Idrive question

Hi guys

Quick question, had the rear brake pads changed 3 weeks ago at an independent garage.
They reset the break pad wear but when I go into the iDrive it doesnt appear there anymore.
Just oil, vehicle check and brake fluid. I presumed it would reappear once the brakes have bedded in but no sign after 3 weeks. Any ideas?

TIA

Any garage can reset the system.
Only garages with the right equipment can enter it onto iDrive
However ... even if they do, if the car goes into a BMW dealer for any work and they update the service history, any independent entries that aren't on BMWs central server (i.e. the work done by an independent garage) will be deleted anyway.

Hi mate

Thanks but I didnt mean an entry onto the service history. I meant the actual option has dissapeared to check brake pad wear. I used to have 4 options now only 3?

Make sure they didnt code out the brake sensor function? Have they replaced the actual sensor or did they re used the old one?

Yours doesn't seem to show front pads either? I just had my rears changed and the Indy reset the counter back to 50k miles. Still shows in the list.

that's not good.
coding that out is awful.
any knowledgeable bmw guy will suspect foul play when it comes to resale (private sale).
