Scam Alert - username gsk8273
To make things straight, yes I understand this is my fault, and I would like to alert this group as I have seen him posting.

I posted searching for an MSE muffler for my new 340i. Somebody messaged me their cell and had me wire over funds and said he would ship it. I asked to use paypal, they said they only have zelle, and I ended up sending money over. Please beware of this account.

I use Zelle for the trucker who ships my car back and forth to Florida. But yes, there is no recourse if anything goes wrong. That should have been a red flag.

That and I was really busy he said he didn't have PayPal. I figured my bank was already associated with zelle and thought it would be insured since it was through my bank (similar to a debit card purchase I thought)

When someone says they don't have PayPal that should set off multiple alarms. Anyone who's legitimate has PayPal. Anyone who claims to not have PayPal isn't legitimate.

To use PayPal, both entities need to have a back account. Which means, PayPal knows who both parties are. If there is fraud...

This doesn't mean there is zero fraud using PayPal. But it's better than sending a stranger cash. OP realizes it was a mistake and hopefully some others learn from his error.
