I have methanol on top of the firmware with boost boost through JB4. Who just drives the E30 / 40/50 there, you can limit the moment in the firmware to an angle and boost. Weak gears in 8hp50 are 1-4-6 and 7/8 won't take more than 25/27 psi either. Personally, my machine cuts the moment by itself and drops the boost from the current 24psi to 14psi in 6th gear after 230 km / h. So I have limited the moment to XHP.
But finally it will be possible to adjust everything only in the next season. It's winter now. Snow, ice and cold. So I will start driving and tuning from the end of April 2021.

Running XHP Stage 3 on my m240i. Anyone else have this "inactive shadow code" is for the transmission? When I check for codes with XHP it says none but MHD shows 421892. Thanks! Any feedback appreciated.

hi folks,
just tried to connect my pixel 3 to the car for the first time to flash xhp.
Have i bought a dud cable? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

its connected via an ethernet>usbC adapter, into the phone.
The adapter shows it's green and orange led's flashing,
a message on the screen says "allow xhp flashtool to access AX88179?.

i click ok. I go into xhp app. press connect. and it just says can't establish connection. i've tried about 3 times, same result.
have i just bought a crap cable? The phone has definitely recognised the connection though?

EDIT: well apparently i have to configure the ethernet settings on the phone.......but i cannot see anywhere in android 10 giving me the option to do that.
any ideas?

@ben Solomon, the connection is between a car and the phone, for coding ability. There is no access to the car network, the static IP is needed to guarantee DHCP handshake. It's quite disappointing because even an iPhone has that capability..android 11 doesn't allow you either. Looks like this will be the last Pixel phone for me.



Great.........looks like you cannot use ENET if you have a pixel 3 on android 11 at least. Now i have to get a usb Dcan instead.

Do you guys think xHP tune will affect smog emissions?

Car got flagged by the state randomly as I'm trying to sell the car here in California.

I am currently running BM3 tune which I flashed back to stock and relocked the DME.

If you flashed your DME back then I don't get why you can't just flash xhp back to stock... it's rather simple. What do you mean "randomly flagged?"

So over time, removing the toque limiter with xhp hasn't hurt the transmission for most users? Asking before I look into purchasing. Haven't even gone stage 2 yet, but if it will reliably increase performance I'm all for it. (If you respond with your experience please specify which xhp flash you're using) thanks

Tried to install/use/flash xHP today. No luck. I succesfully flashed MHD stge 1 months ago. Changed from RON98 to RON95 today. After that could not connect to the car with the black MHD wifi adapter.

Should I do something with the two codes that I received for the flasher and maps license?

Running MHD today I also had a shadow code:
- DME active codes -
None

- DME shadow (inactive) codes -
1FB101 - Check Control message (ID 229): Vehicle battery charge low!.

- Transmission active codes -
None

- Transmission shadow (inactive) codes -
420801 - Electric motor clutch 2 sensor: Supply short circuit to B+.


Any help with the shadow code or even better: loggin into xHP and connecting to the car is much appreciated.

ZERO luck with the app on my Galaxy S9 + USB->ethernet->ENET cable after the Feb 19th update. It will connect to the car, but then I need to disconnect from the car for it to check for updates, and then it fails, since it's not connected to the car.

They do have a Win10 version now though. That worked A+, first time, with no BS.

Running mhd stg2hpfp e40 tune. When initially installed xhp stg3 it worked. However lately when trying to launch the car hard it does not want to shift gear. From 1-2 or sometimes 2-3. Or does a jerky terrible shifts.
Retuned the xhp to 'stock' setting and the problem disappeared .
Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Really, the limiter that "really matters" is 1st gear. Most specifically since you can spin tires and if they grabbed into solid pavement, you put a lot of stress on the driveline. I set mine to the "AWD defaults" which does lower 1st and 2nd. My mods wouldn't hit the limiter in 2nd, but maybe just hit limiter in 1st?

Received help from xHP. Not sure what went wrong in the 1st attempts. You need to follow the manual carefully, select flight mode etc and switch multiple times between connecting to the car via Wifi and back to the internet via 4G. Eventually have it all working and flashed stage 3. First impression is good. Transmission matches a lot better in the diffrent modes with a slightly tuned B58.

They did just have a new app update a couple days ago. I can use the mobile app now as well. Now it logs into your account to retrieve your vehicle, then you can connect to the car to do the magic.

Ran into this old post today. Just want to update my experience. I first reported the car seem to lurk forward during gear change but I notice after flashing MHD stage 1, the issue was resolved. So maybe the lurking forward during gear change was only noticeable when on OEM factory map.

Exhaust pop during upshift seem to more noticeable in stage 2 tune rather than stage 3. Comfort/eco pro seems similar to stock but the biggest difference is how fast gear change is when in Sport+. Very good tune overall and extremely happy

Just flashed stage 2 on my 440i - got mppsk and a downpipe in preparation for BM3 stage 2.
Got mixed feelings about xhp - the shift are certainly impressive, particularly in manual.
But I do 90% of my miles in sport+ partially as I prefer the higher shift points. With xhp is changes gear when it hits 3000rpm even under hard accelleration.
Can this be changed? If not, I will just flash back to stock and forget about it.
