Congrats. The F31 is still the best option for wagon lovers who want a wagon that drives like s sports sedan. Except maybe an AMG E-class wagon, but I can't afford one of those. I am very sad that BMW doesn't see the F31 worthy of the North American market anymore. I get they have a niche market but somehow Volvo is able to sell 2 different wagon models here. BMW's decision has convinced me to keep my 2014 M-Sport for another 5 years instead of selling it early and trading up into a new BMW wagon. I feel like you should either sell these cars right when the factory warrantees are up, before they start costing you expensive repairs, or that you should keep the car for 100k miles or more, and the possible expensive repairs will be offset by the fact that you haven't had car payments for 10 years. I am 5 years in and 55k miles so I am right in the middle of what I see as my car's most likely lifespan. I'm thinking my next car should be a full electric car. If there are no decent wagon-like electrics, maybe I'll get a used AMG Mercedes wagon.

So I haven't posted since getting back into another F31 MSport diesel. There are some updates and differences I have noticed when comparing 2014 to 2018 LCI.
Really happy to be back in a F31 and obviously it's really familiar to me. I appreciated the immediacy of the up and down shifts of the 8 speed transmission with perfect rev matches down the cogs and the brief ignition cut on the up shifts. It feels weird to be getting back into the same car twice but on the other hand I am happy to get my hands on the last 3 Series wagon and diesel offered in North America and Canada. A reset on the warranty is welcomed so as to not have worry about transfer case issues for a tiny bit. This time I thought I change it up a bit (very slightly) with orange MPerformance callipers and rock the 405M's for a tiny bit until a square set of BBS LMR's arrive in a week or so. Thank you sir.
It's strange, now that I've put the 405M's on the car the look is beginning to grow on me. I was going to swap them out immediately once the LMR's arrive but I might keep them on for a bit longer. It's kind of like I built a homage to the F31 MPerformance show car that was paraded around the Essen motor show circuit way back in 2012 to promote the MPerformance products. Anyone remember this pic? Wow, 2012 was a long time ago... I am really late to the game |

I like your style. I went OEM+ on mine. I'm basically all M performanced out. MP taillights going in this weekend if time permits.

Don't worry, no plans to ever add the side decal. Would you believe that I was planning on putting on the MPerformance rear tail lights as well? These are called blacklines as well correct? We definitely have similar tastes.
I was worried about installing them because I thought some folks were reporting moisture getting into the housing due to some differentiation on the seals from market to market or something. More research is required... might have mis-read and the people having problems were referring to some aftermarket brand or something. |

Very nice to see you back. Your previous AW car is still one of my inspirational cars, particularly as you’ve painted the MSport splitter fangs white leaving the bottom plane black.

Thanks... your LM's are looking really nice. Love the blue centre caps. I was thinking of doing the same on the LMR's but I don't think it will jive with the orange callipers

Thanks, love BBS. Blue will work with your orange calipers, you can already see that from your stock Roundel colors on your OEMs. Try not to do red caps. Otherwise, the IND polished or rare white caps (see current ad in F80 classifieds for example) are what I’d do with a white car, if not blue. Are you doing 20” this time?

Finally had a chance to give her a wash at home for the first time. One thing that I am super happy I did this time that I didn't do on the first wagon was to have PPF applied on the full front bumper and 36 inches of the hood and fender.
Back in 2014 I think PPF wasn't really that widely used on the lower end of the market. I did a full track wrap on my GT4 and loved all the benefits. I hated seeing all the small pits and stone chips on my BMW bumper every time I hand washed it. This time around I did not hesitate to have PPF applied to the wagon. |

The main issue with condensation was from people who bought the depo ones and not the official oem versions. But even so, this was from F30 owners. There are very few people with the F31 version. So far no one in the US yet.. till tomorrow 😁

Can't wait for some pics of your updated looks. I think the outcome will look really good on your car since it's a slightly darker paint colour than white. |

Welcome Back to F31. I also saw your thread when I was looking to pickup an F31. I do like your choice of appearance mods. I am looking to do the lip and blackline tail lights as well.
And, you're not too far from me. Toronto was the first trip my F31 took back in November, a few weeks after purchasing.
