New build: 2014 335i Sportline - Advice, feedback, discussion
Good afternoon everyone!
figured my first post real post i'd go all out I recently decided to start working on my 335i Sportline. I am extremely new at this and would appreciate any feedback or discussion on pros and cons of different options. This will be a long term project!. I have SO MANY questions so bare with me. So far i have only have a Dinan Carbon Fiber intake. This is what i want to do any feedback or tweaks would be awesome: Sound: BAV Sound Stage One BMW Speaker Upgrade BAV Sound Ghost Underseat Subwoofer BAV Sound Bimmertech (is this necessary?) Wheels/Suspension: StopTech Big Brake Kit, but I was also thinking Brembo Forgestar F14 Wheels: Bronze Burst or Mattee Gunmetal Front 19×8.5 Semi Concave ET32 Rear 19×10 Deep Concave ET38 – 265/30/19 If i am going after performance would a 18in square setup be more effective? Suspension question: What would be the pros and cons of getting a air suspension system like airRex Air Struts and Optional Digital Management System or coilovers like Bilstein B16? I like the idea of being able to adjust the hight of your car at push of a button for those damn frustrating speed bumps. BMW M Performance Standard/Electronic Steering Wheels Engine: Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe Evolution Racewerks TIC Chargepipe - Black Wagner Catted Downpipe - What other catted downpipes are good options? Dinan High Performance Intercooler JB4 Tuner w/ Mobile Bluetooth (what are everyones thoughts on the Dinan Tuner? So thats all i can really think of as of right now. lol What are some other upgrades that would compliments these like sway and strut bars for example? Let the discussions begin!

Congratulations on approving (with one vote) this automotive improvement project!
Very nice list ... and the budget behind the list. Brakes There isn't anything wrong with StopTech brakes but you will appreciate AP Racing Radi-CAL 2 brakes even more after reading about how AP Racing designs their calipers. Suspension Bilstein B16 PSS10 are one of the best coilovers one can buy within a reasonable price range. Ohlins R&T would be another great choice. Exhaust Akrapovic ... if the budget permits. Pictures please once the project is underway. |

Congrats! It looks like you've got a good list going, and have put much thought into your plans. My recommendation? Unless the parts are directly interconnected (e.g. wheels and suspension), I'd focus on one thing at a time. On that note, I believe you will also find a more thoughtful and in depth discussion on the forum when addressing one item at a time. We all love to help, but you'll likely get diluted responses when grouped together. Personally, I'd start with your suspension and wheels. KW, Bilstein, Ohlins are all good options. If you plan to track will affect your decision, however.

Thank you for the input on AP breaks made me look into it more as i was not familiar with them, already learning! i quickly red somewhere that were designed to match the power output which i found interesting. I wonder how this compares to Dinan's Brembo breaks.
