Question Manual not fully pushing into three gears

Some background information first. Car has 48k miles on it. The transmission, which I believe is the ZF GS6-45BZ, was replaced at 22k due to a bad 2nd gear syncho. After the transmission was replaced, I do not shift hard anymore.

As of yesterday, it doesn't shift all the way into reverse, 1st, and 3rd. The gears work, it doesn't pop out, but the shifter is not clicking all the way in. It is just those three gears. Doesn't matter if the car is running or not.

The only change was a month ago I had a downpipe installed and dyno tune. The car has a lot more torque, but again, I am not shifting hard.

Thoughts?

Anyone? Shift linkage, transmission fork?

It would be hard to imagine a fork issue with only 25k miles on the transmission.

Have you botched a hard shift or two after the mods?

AWD is absolute hell on a manual transmission pushing a lot of torque. Quite possibly a fork issue if you botched a shift or an issue with the shift lever mechanism/bushings/rubber mounts.

I don't shift hard, so no. I learned my lesson when the first tranny was replaced. Never shift hard.

I talked to my mechanic, and he thinks it is probably the shifter. Won't know for sure until I bring the car to him, but I should probably order a short throw shifter in the meantime.
