M Performance Brakes need coding - how much is reasonable?

Hi All,

I have an F30 330e which I have recently upgraded the brakes on myself.

As part of the upgrade, the dtc system needs to be updated in order to function correctly with the brakes.

What would be a reasonable amount to pay for said coding?

The only reason that I ask is that I haven't been able to install e-sys on my macbook pro and I don't have a Windows machine available to use.

I've had no problem with the brakes so far, but would rather not have to test them in an emergency!

Cheers!

150 - 200 quid one would imagine?

Is the car usable without the update?

Do you know what values need changing? I could give you an indication of how long it would take/complexity. From memory having read a few threads I recall it was very straight forward however I could be mistaken…

Edit - assuming it's the same as this https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1590542 shouldn't cost a lot from any competent ESYS 'coder'

easy to do - no one should be charging more than £50 to do it remotely

If it's VO coding then it's a 10 minute job

However I think all these remote coders still need you to have esys installed, they just then remote control it - unless I'm missing something ?

They remote in just to use your computer to connect theirs to the car, effectively speaking. You don't need the software, except for that of their preferred synching method such as Teamviewer for example.

Which reminds me, I must put a classified ad on. I've got a purpose-built BMW diagnostic & coding laptop to offload. Bought on a whim & I've still not used it...

Was thinking £250 delivered. Still not had chance to do the advert.

It's a Lenovo X230. i5 processor, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro.
Excellent battery life, including charger obviously.
Amongst other stuff, it's loaded with ISTA, ETK, NCS Expert, INPA etc.
Has a K+ Dcan cable too….
