What does the rear electrical module run? My front driver side speakers have stopped working. They make a buzzing noise. And it seems like my exhaust flap isn't opening either. I am getting a REM error code.

Rear electrical Module usually runs everything in the back side of the car, so your driver side speaker making a buzzing noise might be from the speaker going bad/is loose?

Usually people with REM problems, have many things not working such as tail lights, back windows, back door locks etc.

The new Rear Electronic Module (REM) provides functions from the previous control units footwell module (FRM), junction box electronics (JBE) and Park Distance Control (PDC). The aim is to reduce the number of control units and to improve component networking. At the same time, the optimisation of the wiring harness reduces the physical bus capacity.

The Rear Electronic Module (REM) unites the functions of previous control units. The Rear Electronic Module (REM) controls the processes in the rear section of the vehicle together with the linked control units.

The Rear Electronic Module (REM) also controls the following functions:

Reading the fuel tank level
Activation of rear wiper
Activation of heated rear window
Activation of tailgate lock
Activation of rear power window regulator
Activation of roller sunblind
Activation of seat heating
Activation of rear lights
Park distance control
Signal output to instrument cluster
Activation of seat-belt extender

Speakers have nothing to do with that module, it seems:

Quote:
The HiFi System transfers audio signals from the head unit to the HiFi amplifier in analogue form.

When the Top HiFi system is installed, the audio data travel from the head unit to the Top HiFi amplifier (AMPT) on the MOST bus.

The audio signals travel from the audio amplifier to the speakers in twisted-strand wiring.

The HiFi amplifier transmits audio signals to the speakers through 7 audio driver circuits. The Top HiF amplifier transmits audio signals through 9 audio driver circuits.

Each bass speaker receives audio signals from its own audio driver circuit. Each channel for the mid-range speakers and tweeters is powered by a shared audio driver circuit. The tweeters are connected in parallel with the mid-range speakers.
