2013 BMW 328i. 72k miles so far. Only issue would be the seat belt sensor is malfunctioning on the passenger side. Nothing major.

2012 F30 335i Sport with 57,xxx miles.

So far outside of standard services I've had,
-Camera Malfunction, all Cameras. They flashed the firmware of the controller to a newer version which didn't fix the issue. Then they stated replacing wiring harnesses until they couldn't replicate the issue anymore. Problem solved.

-CIC Controller replacement. Paint had rubbed off the media button.

-Radio buttons replaced. Cracked paint.

-HUD glass vibrating.

-CIC screen flexing making plastic cracking noises.

-Gas cap lock not functioning properly (Would "lock" but wouldn't actually extend the locking bar).

-Oil filter housing leaking oil. Replaced the Gasket.

-Drivetrain malfunction. Ended up being a failed fuel rail sensor needing to be replaced.

So far that's it. Every single one of the above was covered by BMW under warranty.

2013 Sportline 328i

81,000mi

Nothing so far outside factory warranty, although I did purchase 100k extended for $4K and might not pay for itself.

Timing chain and oil pump chain so far no whining or noise.

Changing oil every 7.5k Mobil One with OEM filter.

At 85K will be doing tranny pan fluid replace (about 3l out of 7)

Will plan on keeping car hopefully to 150k.

2014 328d

56k(roughly)

NOx sensor at purchase
Front brakes replaced under warranty at 45k
Had the pinch sensors in the front windows malfunction, reflashed computer at dealer, problem solved.
Engine seems to "miss" at cold start during winter, dealer said it was nothing out of the usual, could be lower grade diesel used in winter, gonna look at using dieselkleen this winter to see if the problem comes back.

Currently have a front wheel bearing that seems to be going out, will get it looked at on next service.

Nothing else out of the usual aside from regular maintenance otherwise. I was going to see about trading it in next spring, but thanks to VW, I'm probably better off keeping it with how fast it's depreciating.

I had this too. When I replaced my under seat woofers, I saw that the wiring loom was cut on the passenger seat. Must have been a error in the production run. My car is also a 2013. I bought the car new, so there's no way this happened after I picked up the car.

My 2013 328 also has a weird issue with the passenger seat belt sensor. If I place anything on the seat, even my cell phone, the seat belt indicator will go on. Hahaha, pretty annoying after being tired from a long day, throwing my phone on the seat, then the indicator going off a few minutes after. I pick the phone up and the indicator turns off.

I never replaced my subwoofers but did install a trunk subwoofer and an amp. I think the indicator started tripping out after the stereo upgrades. I wonder if the extra bass in the car messed with the indicator's sensitivity.

Rattle on driver side dash developed around 10,000 miles,
took it to a dealer few times didn't solve the issue. Got it fixed myself
recently as it turned out to be the driver side ac vent.

Rattle from center console, where I drive knob is present. Fixed by the dealer.

Rattle from trunk just recently. Solved this by fastening the bolts on the trunk ceiling.

Trunk spring squeaking developed just recently. I fixed it with a spray of Pb blaster.

Thermostat replaced (recall)

The A/C is rather smelly during cold start, must be the molds on the evaporator even though the cabin filter have been replaced. Gonna buy A/C Spray.

Tires due soon for replacement.

My biggest concern was the rattle which annoys me every time, but it's been quiet so far after having all fixed.

That rattle on the drivers side dash is driving me crazy... how did you fix it from the AC vent?

When I post this I thought I had fixed it for sure however on random times the rattle would appear again.
It drove me nuts but so far I haven't heard it for a while. I just applied some foam strips to it last time.
Maybe it's from my head up display or gauge.

Okay thank you... I am thinking it's not the vent and the plastic that wraps around the steering column. Can't stand the noise.

Mine just passed the 70k mileage mark and no issues whatsoever! I did buy the extended warranty and the service plan up to 100k since I drive an average of 18k - 20k miles a year

Car was eventually back to normal at around 50K. The second dealership treated me really well and I like to think it is also due to my technical background and general knowledge or cars. I helped them out fix a few things without them having to look to hard.
Out of curiosity, did it sound like this?

It's driving me nuts. To me it sounds like struts/shocks and mounts, dealer says it's VSS and says it's normal.

If its a clunking noise at low speeds ,its the strut. Please check my thread

2014 335i, Drivetrain malfunction at approx 27000 miles.
Very excessive soot on tail pipes, pronounced engine bucking, engine would stall.

Cause: Bad injector.
Remedy: BMW replaced 1 bad injector and 1 fouled plug.
All good for 5 days then same problem, even more severe this time.
Cause: 2 bad injectors, don't recall the cylinder numbers I'd have to look at the paper work.
Remedy: BMW replace the 5 injectors remaining and 5 plugs.
All good from then on, at 31,000 miles now.
Always run Shell V Power 93 octane.
I drive in sport mode / manual mode 95 % of the time, 90 percent highway time at 65-75 mph.
Some fair amount of spirited driving as well.
Wondering if I should anticipate this cropping up in another 25,000 miles.

47k miles, recently my electric fan was found faulty. Couldn't produce power past 3k rpm. Took to dealer and was replaced under factory warranty. Coolant hose going from expansion tank to upper radiator was brittle and broke cause of electric fan - also replaced under warranty.

94k. The f30 is one of the most reliable bmw product launches ever. Every other generation was riddled with widespread failures. Really only the common thing with f30 is the oil filter housing. The n20 timing chain is there but lessr frequent
