I've got this beauty for the whole day on a demo!

Initial impressions are its bloody lovely and handles much better than a G31 5 series! And definitely better than a standard 335D!

Road and wind noise seems no better than my 3 series though so I guess this one doesn't have the acoustic glazing

Yes because it's not over two tonnes, it actually fits in parking spaces and I don't look like a drug dealer!

I tried to find one of these when I was buying my 335d Touring but they are like hens teeth second hand and daft money too. Made my 335d look very cheap. They're crazy money for a fully loaded one, but I prefer the size of them to an X5

I think this X3 is bigger than my last (2004 E53) X5!

It still has the 50cm wading depth apparently, which is helpful for some of us.

teaston How do you find the new 30d engine? I have only tried it in a 730d and was very impressed - it has a lot more torque than the previous 30d.

The cognac Vernasca interior looks really good definitely an upgrade from dakota

I'm really liking a panoramic sunroof too, it definitely gives a very premium feel to the cabin

Far too new to get a decent second hand one.
When I looked for my F25, they were like rocket horse crap. It was a nightmare trying to find one with the right spec at the right cost.
A couple of years later and there were loads on the market

I think that one has Pirelli runflats on which are a little noisier than the alternative "high performance" tyres option.

I just decoded the vin and it does have Acoustic Comfort Windows, so I'm not sure there're a worthwhile option.

Also it has VSS! Probably part of the reason why it feels like it handles so well and is lovely to park! I will be ordering it on my next car!!

VSS is the one option I really miss having gone M135i to 330d.

Does this have ASD like the 35d or is it quite hushed engine-wise when on the move? I'd love the M40i version, but head says the diesel makes more sense in a car like this....
