20” tyre advice switching to non run flat!

Hi all

First time hoping to get some advice on switching to non runflat tyres for my 624m wheels.

Currently on p-zero rft and due to having bimmec wheel spacers on as well, the ride is not as comfortable as I would like. I have acs springs which are just amazing but hoping to keep the spacers on for now and switching to non runflat tyres to improve the ride.

Any good suggestions from anyone?

Thanks in advance

It's a tough one as I had an F31 from new and the run flats did save me, I was able to carry on my normal life and get from a to b and get the replacement fitted at a convenient time. I won't lie, it felt good to not be 'stranded' by a flat lol!

But then the cost is a joke, and the ride quality - especially on larger tyres, is also a joke. Hence, my current car is on normal tyres. I'll take the ~£50-70 saving per corner and risk an inconvenience if I get a puncture thanks. Also to answer what I guess is your main question, the ride really is compromised by run flats. I also think sporty driving is also compromised, there just isn't any sidewall flex in run flats.

I would say go for quality normal rubber.

Definitely switch to non RFT’s no question!

Spacers shouldn’t make any difference to the ride at all though!?

It's a weird one to explain the feeling. 12mm front and 15mm rear. There is definitely a difference in how the car behaves in terms of how it holds the road.

Very weird feeling and the best way of explaining is that I have to hold the steering wheel at all times especially if it hits a small pothole it would seem to yank the steering (ever so slightly) to a side.
I've had the vehicle checked over and took the spacers off to compare and this issue does not occur.

I thought it may be the price to pay with wheel spacers?🤷🏽*♂️

I've got 12/15mm too, I noticed zero difference after fitting them!

We recommend Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 225/35 front and 255/30 rear for xDrive.
