3-4mm sounds about right, you can do a simple visual check and see how much pad material is left.

If you are not familiar with brake pads just go to the service manager next time and ask if he can show you a worn out brake pad... then take a mental snapshot of how much material is left on that worn out pad.

The next time you see your pads with the same amount of material left...replace them.

Not sure if it's the same but on my E92 I just cut off the sensors and wired them so the car thinks they are always new.

Thanks _bdiddyb_ & dreamspeed.

I don't see my brake pads being replaced anytime soon then, may take awhile for them to wear down 3mm - 4mm. My driving isn't aggressive or hard on the brakes.

Hi,

What about the rotors? How many mm should a rotor be, so that we may conclude it needs change?

Here are the excerpts from the F-30 Bentleys. It has 2 difference mins for Pads in different locations in the manual. Section 20-26 says 3mm and 340-9 says 2.4mm

sorry for a stupid question, would a damaged or bad Brake Pad Wear Sensor cause Chassis stabilization light to go on, on our F30? After replacing Knuckle and Spindle I got a chassis Stabilization light. not sure what can it be.

I'm thinking a wheel speed sensor would be a more likely culprit.

So I did some testing, when I unplug a speed sensor the chassis stabilization light turns on right away when car is started and the airbag light turns on too. normally the light goes on after driving 15+ mph

but when unplugging the brake pad wear sensor there is no difference if its plugged or unplugged.
