Carly for BMW (F3*) - anybody used it?

Anyone else had any luck with the new F-series coding released this week?

I have managed to code the KOMBI (changed to the M-performance logo just to test) but have had no luck with the FEM. It will not read/back-up.

Anyone managed to code from FEM? Mine is MY 2013 (June) F30. I have the Gen II OBD and updated full app.

I was thinking about buying this app at first, but ended up spending $18 bucks on the cable more features available too

I wonder, if with carly could I initilize/calibrate rain sensor in f30? Plus desactivate auto stop/start as default (so i don't have to press the buttom every time i start a car)

Yes to the auto stop-start - best code ever!

No to the rain auto sensor - what if it snowed? You'd bugger your wiper motors.

Many people - including myself, complain for rain sensor. When windscreen is just wet from drizzle, they wait till is really unbearable, and that on high sensitive setting. Read on other forum, and when guys calibrate it again (that was a thread for E series) with Inpa, it works much better. I got new wipers, screen is clean, and wipers on auto mode are terrible, need to manually use wipers. Changing settings of sensitivity of the sensor does not help at all. So if I could calibrate sensor again, and that would fix the issue, I would be more than happy. My friends Ford Focus wipers work like a dream, Kia sportage even better, and posh BMW no good at all.. So looking for a way to calibrate it. Maybe there is someone from Scotland, who can help? Live in Falkirk

Has anyone been using Carly with the JB4 OBD2 port? It seems like it's overloading the port and the JB4 can't deliver all the power.

They support F30 for a long time, i had a F30 before and it was already working.
Very easy to use for non expert people. I am using iOS, but i can't talk about Android capabilities.
You can also read and clear fault codes, reset maintenance requests and clear battery code in case of change.

They are opening coding capabilities and modules overtime, took some time for NBT-EVO but it works now.
You need to buy their hardware dongle v2 to have it working.
You need to perform in-app purchase to get the iDrive coding features like $15. Other modules are included as basic features.

(EDIT) A backup is generated before coding that you can send by email or store in the iPhone in case of coding problem.
I must say that i never had to experience to use it and i am happy with that.

It's not always up to date from the last version of the App but it seems they updated it recently as it seems to match.

I emailed them , and they said they are having bug issues and they will update the app soon again , because my csm doesn't back up and it crashes all the time , hopefully by Monday

Carly is located in munich germany, just take that into consideration. Usually they are pretty quick with responses, so I would say it'll take them max. a business day to get back at you

I have been using Carly for a year on my E90. I am taking delivery of a brand new 2017 330 xDrive F30. I will reprogram all my favorites options on it and let you know how it does. I have the gen 2 wifi adapter and use IOS on an iPad and an iPhone 6s. I am very happy with the results. Carly have been adding new fonctionnality to their program about twice a year.

Yes it's been able to do video in motion for some time now...

No need for everyone to keep asking what it can do - just go to the Carly site and check what coding options are available. They list all possibilities for every model BMW they support with an explanation

Does Carly just work really F*****g slow. I have a 13 F30 w/Android, Pro version. Able to connect to BT, moving beyond that well, not happening tonight. Not impressed with ease of use and plug and pau as stated.

Man, this Carly seems like a ripoff. 40$ for the app, and then apparently you need to pay big bucks to unlock certain features like DVD in Motion? I guess I'll just have to learn how to do the coding myself.

This company is crap!

They just changed their app to a subscription plan (pro vs. full). They sell it as better for the customer but it really is better for the company and only the company. People do not like subscriptions. I hope they lose tons of money.

So, I just bought the darn adapter on Thursday (3/15) but it didn't come until 3/17. I emailed customer service to get their 5% off coupon on Thursday 3/15.

Then I read on their website on Friday about the subscription service and that if you bought the pro version as of 3/15 I would have gotten the full version at no extra charge and no subscription. So, basically, I missed it by 1 day! The customer service person that emailed me on 3/15 didn't mention anything about this benefit.

So, I email them and they immediately say no. Now I have emailed them back and put a terrible rating on their free app as this is horrible customer service.

It's not like it is 3 months down the road. We are talking about ONE day! Geez. If they only acted like Amazon it would be taken care of already.

Not sure I want to keep this if I have to pay $60 per year! That means every time the dealer updates my car I will have to pay for this and then when I want to change my battery I have to pay for it again. Crazy!

They advertise this as great for the customer because they now get everything included with no add ons but if I bought the pro version and added a couple of things it would cost me like $80 instead of probably over $200 over the lifetime of me owning this car.

Again this company is a bunch of crooks! Stay away!
