Hi guys, I was searching for a way to add Apple CarPlay to my 2018 440i Gran Coupe. Most websites are charging about 300$ to 400$ but Bimmer-Remote is only charging $54.99 for remote installation. I wanted to know if anyone had used their service or purchased from them before. If so, are they legitimate?

https://bimmer-remote.com/

Thanks!

I didn't use them but I paid around the same price for CarPlay. Make sure you buy & install the wifi cable. It's easy & only like $25 which is needed no matter who you purchase CarPlay from.

Steve @ Code My Bimmer. It was a really easy process, I flashed it myself. You do need a windows PC & an ENET cable.

Thanks for the info! I'm looking for the antenna but unsure which one to get. Are they all the same?

Make sure to ask them to enable full screen carplay as a part of the coding. By default it only takes up about 2/3 of the screen.

Thanks. I spoke with them and it seems like the fullscreen comes by default.

Does anyone know where I could buy the WLAN Wifi Antenna? I tried looking online but I was only able to find it on ECS Tuning website. Does the dealership sell this?

Sorry for the late response. I bought mine from FCPEuro. It's the OEM cable but you can buy any generic cable off of Amazon, it's pretty much the same thing. On Amazon just search "BMW wifi antenna." Here's also the link to FCPEuro. You can also call your local dealers with the part number & see if they have it in stock.

FWIW, I bought the OEM wifi antenna from the dealer, it was only $30. Cheap & easy, also the antenna itself is longer than the aftermarket one the guy who flashed my car offered so he could route it closer to the cabin (if that actually doesn't anything).
