Question Which ots tune to run?

Planning to install the xdi 35 hpfp this weekend. What OTS tune can I run while I get the custom tune. I notice BMW DIY GUY is running a custom tune and got 419whp on stock turbo. I plan to get a custom cary jordan tune after the holidays. Would it be safe to run the BM3 stage 2H e30 tune? I read that others were doing it with stock hpfp but they were getting knocks in their logs. Would me having the xdi 35 make a difference? Below is the post I am talking about.

I'm definitely under the impression that you need to have a specific tune for that hpfp. With that said, I know MHD has a box check off for the pump, I don't have BM3 so I don't know but would assume they do also.

Yes, bm3 does as well. From what I was told it changes the parameters. And the car will run fine once I choose the xdi option.

Off topic but the 3.5 Tmap is which one? Is it the Tmap used on the BMW 4 cyl turbo and is this allowing more load/boost?

No special tune needed. Both MHD and BM3 has a setting that support the XDI.

Yeah I know that. But can't I get higher boost from using the stage 2h e30 tune with the new hpfp. This is while I get custom tune.

Ahhh, sorry I misunderstood. You sure can but it might affect your ign timing in a negative way so you loose power on that account.

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to know. Seems like I'm going to have to do a custom tune to take full advantage of the new hpfp. DIY bmw guy is getting 419whp with 93 octane. I wonder if I can get 450whp with an E85 tune with the stock turbo.

You sound like a candidate ready for a turbo upgrade.

Did you already upgrade to a stage 2+ lpfp? If not, you should if you’re planning on running an e3/40 mix. 450whp will likely require a turbo upgrade but please keep us posted with the dyno run results after the custom tune.

From what I have read no need to replace the lpfp. I run e30 now on stock hpfp. I am pretty sure I can run e30-e40 with the aftermarket hpfp.
