You can probably still get the back end to slide if you whip the car enough into a corner (on a roundabout for example going at a decent speed). However holding it in the drift won't really be possible as you'll grip almost immediately with 4wd. With xdrive you'll be able to drift and hold it at high speeds in an open space in really slippery conditions I reckon.

FYI the m5 in the drift video you mentioned indeed is awd, BUT it can decouple the front axle and act as a pure RWD, so dont be fooled by that video into thinking it can drift like that in awd.

yeh easy done, heavy car so you have lots of weight to play with to help weight transfer and get the back end out and enjoy a slide before you run out of power and xdrive pulls you back in line,
As above, most quattro audis are FWD based with the ability to send power to the rears, like S3's ect , where as bmws are RWD based with the ability to send power to the front... much better |
