If you pick the correct broker, you should be able to get a reasonable quote for a modified car.
I used to insure a Focus RS with a 65% power increase, various other mods and including track day insurance as well as a guaranteed value and it was no real increase over a bog standard policy. |

Not worth the risk IMO. Undeclared mods can invalidate your policy, even cosmetic ones. Insurance companies will go to great lengths these days not to pay out and if the mods policy was in the small print at the time of accident/theft and they found out (admittedly not likely in the event of an unrecovered theft), you wouldn't have a leg to stand on
I have the MPPSK and the M Perf rear diffuser on my 440i. There was.a £40ish insurance increase for the power kit and nothing for the diffuser.

So guys here’s the update, spoke to BMW insurance services (the ones I have 7 days free cover with), they say ‘we don’t consider any parts fitted at BMW dealers using genuine BMW parts to be a modification’, I’ll take that.

Always declare, chances are in a normal accident or whatever nothing would be checked, but heaven forbid you end up at fault for a serious injury rtc or worse, with a major payout potential for the insurer I guarantee you they'll be looking very closely at your car and any other way to get out of the payout.
