this is probably irrelevant but it must be said… i have the m-sport brakes on mine and the brake dust that these create are insane… im cleaning my wheels every few days because otherwise my wheels look more gunmetal and less the original silver
still like others have said for $650 its well worth it |

Can the M Sport brakes be retrofit to a car that was ordered without them? I am only seeing the Brembo performance brakes available.

I am leaning towards the M Performance upgrade which has the pretty red, yellow, orange color options! Its "only" $2K but that includes new rotors, etc. |

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M-Perfor...9a95cc&vxp=mtr I am going nuts deciding between them or just painting the current ones. I painted my last set and they came out great. If I could locate the M Sport kit for a half the price of the Performance ones it would be a no brainer. |

Thank you for the link. FYI it does not include rear rotors. The kit from ECS is $2300 but includes everything: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2587028/ |

My car does not have them and I can't seem to locate them aftermarket. It seems they are only available for a build from the factory. Looks to be that my only option is paint or close to 2g's. |

Thats just plain dumb. I get why certain options are only available at time of order but the M Sport calipers are simple bolt on. I guess its a way for BMW to make us pay out the nose ($2300 versus $650). Bastards.

$2300 is also a bargain after-market cost, considering they need 6 hrs physical labour, the whole 4 rotors ($1200) + $1000 caliber kit AND the software update. $2300 is a steal. These are sports rotors that can brake at track speed and perform nearly on par, or on par, with Ceramic discs. What I do wish for is the 'supposedly' upcoming aftermarket Ceramic brake rotors, several manufacturers are working to engineer mass production for mainstream cars (including Brembo). The two advantages would be longevity, possibly production line holes (so no after-drilling) AND little to no dust!! I would pay 5k for such a kit lasting 500 000 kms. Also keep in mind that for $650, they are just substituting the stock brake set. For $2300, you're basically paying for the entire (extra) brake set.

Tbh, the M Performance brake kit is a relative bargain. Aftermarket seem to generally be in the 3k neighborhood, but of course they come with other things such as bigger pads and upgraded lines.

If you have a 335i or a 435i with the MSport Package, you already have the "M-Performance" Brakes.
The Calipers are identical, it's simply just the Rotors are Blank on the MSport, and Slotted/Dimpled on the M-Performance. Calipers are also just a painted a different color. So yes, IF you wanted, you can simply order the M-Performance Rotors for the 435i/335i MSport Brakes, and you would essentially have an "M-Performance "Brake. As for them on the Track, I reckon with some proper pads, stainless steel lines and good brake fluid, they should hold up relatively well. They will still fade i'm willing to bet, as they're not a true BBK ala a BREMBO GT/StopTech/AP Racing, but, it'll still be more than enough for light tracking. Any true track enthusiast is likely going for one of the ones I listed above anyways. |

I decided just to paint mine with G2. I did my 335is with the G2 and they came out fantastic. I own a metal fab shop so was able to prep them perfectly. Took all the cast marks off them then painted. Was about a 4 hour project. Ordering Estroil Blue for the calipers and still have a black kit I will use for the rotor heads. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/s9rdn97yk...0nOm9Qcva?dl=0 |

I think there is some confusion here.
The "M Sport brakes" are the same as the "M Performance brakes" with the exception of the slotted/dimpled discs. The stock brakes found on an M Sport vehicle =/= M Sport brake option. |

It seems the 428i calipers are different than 435i ones. On my 428i Gran Coupe with M Sport option my calipers look very different from the M Performance ones: Last edited by tboooe; 01-06-2015 at 08:48 AM.. |

If you didn't get the M Sport brake option (stock M Sport brakes), then they'll just be grey/silver calipers. They may look different, but I'm not 100% sure since I've never had a detailed look at them. |

Okay, lets give another quick breakdown.
335i/435i MSport has the SAME BRAKES as the M-Performance. Just painted Blue, and they have Blank Rotors. Everything else, is the same. You could simply swap on the M-Performance Discs, and you would have an MP BBK, just with Blue Calipers. These are 370MM/340MM 328i/428i/M235i/M135i MSport has the 350MM M-Sport Brakes, in Blue. It's essentially the same caliper, but the "Bridge" is different. You cannot swap on the M-Performance Discs, you need the whole upgrade to get the 370MM/340MM Combo. These from factory, I believe are 350MM/340MM. |

I also had a Stock 335i F30 before, and it had the 4-Piston 350MM Fronts, and the rears were just a normal caliper. And yes they were Silver/Grey. |
