Help: Alarm keeps going off on my 2016 328 gt

It just started going off randomly today. It's getting more frequent, any ideas?? Will CPO cover this?

Do you notice it going off during certain times of the day or maybe after it was running? Idunno but it stopped after a while. Must've went off like 6-7x within an hour.

My wife left it unlocked finally but it locked itself after a minute or something. After that it stopped. Trying to find a correlation somehow. I'll take it to the dealer when I have the time.

I don't have a F36 but want to share my recent experience.

My alarm went off a few time when I was at my brother's house a few weeks ago. It turned out when I put my key near his 2000 Honda Civic's keys, it triggered the alarm. Not sure how the science worked, my alarm stopped going off after I "relocated" my keys...

Never payed much attention but I’d say afternoon to early evening.

Was trying to read into it and found some reports of a faulty hood switch or sensor. Another possibility is the battery going faulty.

I had bmw Indy tech look at it and no codes were tripped when he checked it out. My appointment with the dealer is this week. I’m hoping they find something as my warranty is nearly up.

Thanks for the 2cents. That’s an odd observation lol. I too have a Honda (CR-V) so it is a possibility. I wonder if the OG poster has a Honda too?!

Lol I have an Acura TL key at home but not sure if that's really the cause. I'll have to test it haha.

Ahhh alarm issue came back. Dealer can’t find any codes tripped and I haven’t done any coding myself to mess up my system.

@Gran_Turismo
You have any luck with yours? I did notice my car was parked reversed on my driveway (slanted) and it happened around 10-11am(pst)

Got another appt in a week any input would be helpful. Can’t find a TSB on this but it’s deff a popular issue amongst all models.

My E53 used to do that in really cold weather-- turns out it was the battery going dead which would then trigger the alarm. Sidenote-- My key actuator had also frozen in that same snow storm and broken, so not sure if it was a combo of the two, or just the battery triggering the alarm. Got a new battery, then left it unlocked and the alarm stopped. Got a new key and new lock at the dealership and all was well.

I just had alarm issues with my '06 TL! Door switch and hood latch switch were bad and also blew a fuse. The '16 GT has had no alarm issues yet...knock on wood.

Hey fellas, so I haven't had this issue since a little after I made this post. It kinda just went away on it's own, although I'm sure it's not really "fixed". It seems just totally random, I probably wouldn't be able to replicate it if I bright to dealer anyway. So knock on wood that it remains fixed for a while!

My F31 has started to do this, the alarm will just go off randomly in my driveway. Has happened at least 5x this morning. It is not windy (at the moment), has a sunshade up right now due to FL sun.

I may put the wagon on a battery tender to see if that helps, but any other ideas?

JDAURIA My F31 alarm has been doing the same thing probably like 4x a day. Did you end up replacing your battery? My Battery is still the OEM one from 2017 but my voltage levels are still looking decent.

No I didnt replace the battery. I actually put it on a battery tender (Ctek) and charged it up. Hasn't done it since. I think there is also a way to disable the interior motion sensor by holding down the lock for a few seconds longer, or something along those lines.
