Weak air blowing out of driver side vents only?
The last few days I've noticed that the two vents either side of the steering wheel aren't blowing air (hot or cold) out as powerful as the passenger side ones.
I've made sure all the vents are open, I've open and closed them. I've put the fan full blast. I've changed the middle wheel so that it's full red. The right side feet and windscreen seem to be blowing air out at the same intensity as the passenger but that's a lot harder to test. Previously when the fan was on full I could hear it working but now I can only hear it from the passenger side. Anyone know what could possibly be the problem? Going to take it to the dealers tomorrow but it's no longer under warranty. Car in question: F31 330d 65 |

Are you in eco pro? As I know that also adjusts the climate to an eco setting. Just trying to think of some more obvious things first.

I've tested and tried most obvious things, messed about with all the settings. Nothing has come up on the dash recently apart from low coolant which I topped up and since then it has remained the same level, which I've checked everyday |

I understood this was normal (read it somewhere), mine is certainly the same. It will blast more air out on the passenger side, than the drivers side. Not sure if it levels out once you reach the final required temperature.
Otherwise maybe mine is knackered too! |

On my 2015 model 4GC, there was a software update to the aircon which fixed this.
Passenger used to always blow cold I think and completely different temps from the centre vents. Related to over compensation by the solar sensor. I'll try and find the fix number 😇 |

Simnew,
It reads to me that you suffered from a different problem to L9JVV and myself. You write of a temperature difference, with the passenger side being cold and the TIS certainly shows a fix for that, whereas we are suffering with the Drivers vents having a poor air flow. "The last few days I've noticed that the two vents either side of the steering wheel aren't blowing air (hot or cold) out as powerful as the passenger side ones." Has anyone had a poor airflow from the Drivers side vents fixed? |

If this is normal then my car must be faulty because it blows roughly the same intensity from both the passenger and driver side vents. Both my E90’s did as well.

Since writing this post, all the vents are now blowing at roughly the same intensity which was how it was prior to be the problem. I didn't end up going to the garage, all I done one morning was crank everything up to full blast including both front and rear windows and so far it's sorted the problem.
The only other way I can describe it, without knowing actually much about how the heating system works. But imagine there are two fans, one for the passenger side and one for the drivers, on full blast you should hear both of them but when I was having the problem I could only hear the left (passenger) one |
