Oh how i wished you lived round the corner, if you say it only takes a couple of hours, think it will take me a lot longer than that even with some help, at least i have 3/5 weeks to find someone to help me

Hi, Did you install the emtronika rear view camera on your F36 GC? I have a 2015 F36 and also purchased this unit. Can you please share some installation thoughts on how to remove the tailgate trim and wire the system. I will appreciate the help and thank you in advance.

Hi, sorry to take a while to reply, been away on holiday. Unfortunately can't really help you on the fitting, i didn't fancy doing it myself, so went to see the chap at Halfords who fitted my dash cam. He fitted the whole thing in 45 minutes, always helps when somebody knows what they are doing and have all the right tools. Sorry can't help you any more. Good luck with having yours fitted

I've just ordered the Emtronika kit for my F30 with NBT Pro Nav.
Did anyone get anywhere with coding via Bimmercode as that's all I have?

There are two parts to the coding, one which can be done by Bimmercode, but with the other you need to add a file, so you do need to use esys. Just ask on the forum, there will be someone from your area that will be happy to help, someone did for me.

Thanks.
Mine arrived today and I plan to install it on Wednesday.

My only concerns are how much of the coding I can get away with using Bimmercode and what the DIP switches are for as there are absolutely no instructions.

Ping them and they will send you links to the files and pics around the dip switches. In fact found the old ones I was sent, here you go:

Thanks for that. I'm not sure if they're the same as my box is slightly different, but this is now a job for the weekend as I'll now be working tomorrow.

From memory, the dip switches were just the first one and the last one. I know the last one was missed at time, which is one of the problems of fitting without coding. Mind you it only takes 5/10 minutes to strip the dash.

At the moment they are all in the OFF position.
It's not conclusive looking at the attachments, so I'll message them.

Just had a response. Apparently DIP 1 needs to be on if the car has a pma2 module. All others must be OFF.
Makes me wonder why they would send it out with all DIPs OFF and no instructions???
Plus I don't know if I have a pma2 module and that may not reveal itself until coding.

Success.
After setting all dips back to OFF I undid all of the coding left the car for a while so everything shut down. I went back a few hours later and did the coding all over again. Now it works

You can tell that it's not original BMW as my previous F31 was spec'd with a parking cam, but this is a very good copy.

I also added the coding for the tow bar zoom which was mentioned on here.
This extra option on the camera side menu allows the line to tell you where the trailer will go when reversing, just like the parking guide lines.

And to top it off I coded the rear cam to stay on up to 50kph so I can keep an eye on my trailer

For reference, anyone wanting to code using Bimmercode, the lines for the NBT head unit are:-

REM_01 > PdcParkMasterVar 3203 > RVC = wert_02
HU_NBT > EXBOX 3001 > AUX1_IN_HU = wert_255 [Default]
HU_NBT > EXBOX 3001 > CAMERA_SYSTEM = trsvc
HU_NBT > EXBOX 3001 > MACRO_RV_C = aktiv
HU_NBT > EXBOX 3001 > TRSVC = wert_81

and somewhere in HU_NBT > MACRO_TRAILER_COUPLING for the trailer zoom option.

So you managed to do it, with just Bimmercode

Well done mate

For future reference though, think you can find the trailer zoom a little easier and not have to go in to expert mode, its in Headunit under 'Rear view camera zoom'.

Wish you'd have done this before me, had to get one of the local chaps round to do it with esys

LOL, I could have done both cars at the same time

If it's anything like my F30 then the tailgate trim is only held on by around half a dozen trim clips with screws in them and 2 screws for the warning triangle. It's a 5 min job to remove. Takes longer to remove the handle on the outside.

Yep, you are right the hardest part or what seem to take the longest, was stripping the old handle and then fitting it to the new handle then fitting that, everything else seemed a piece of cake to him
