Angry F30 335i Xdrive Staggered Wheels ISSUE

I recently purchased some new wheels for my 335.

Front: 19x8.5 w/ 245/40ZR19
Rear: 19x9.5 w/ 275/35ZR19

Wheels are originally off an e9x M3

There was a very noticeable stutter when accelerating...

I've since taken the wheels off since I'm sure my xDrive system didn't agree with the new setup...

I am wondering why this happens, if there is a possible solution, and if not, what size wheels should I try next...

Thanks!

The difference between front and rear diameters is 0.4%, so it should work. How much of a tread depth difference, if any, is there between front and rear?

I have the exact same setup but in 18 inches.

Continental extremecontact dws too...

Style 219m wheels
245/40/18 front
275/35/18 back

2012 X1 xdrive and does the exact same thing as you... The tire size difference% is/should be more than fine... IT isnt for some Reasons.

I've got a 335 on 19's staggered but the rears are 255's, yours are 275. That's probably the issue. Mine are factory spec'ed.

Me

245/40/18 = 808 revs per mile
275/35/18 = 811

So 3 revs per mile difference...

245/40/19=778
275/40/19=781

Again, 3 revs per mile... You can't get closer than that..

225/35/19 = 801 revs per mile
255/30/19 = 806

5 revs per miles.

Is your 335 an xDrive?

If so, why would the 255 work better than the 275 if the 275 has less of a difference in circumference?

What type of tire are you running?

Some mechanics at BMW told me that the xDrive system is so picky, that sometimes you have to try multiple types of tires before you find a tread pattern that agrees...

I've used the exact same setup (wheel/tire sizes) for summer on my 435iX since 2015 - never had any problems

I go back to square setup with 18's in the winter

Im running 763m reps. 8.5in with 235/40R19 front, 9.5in with 265/35/R19 rear for my summers. Tires are Continental ExtremeContact Sports. No issues with my Xdrive.

I go back to the 400m squares for the winters.

Will the computer go nuts if the xdrive is having an issue? With as many sensors there are on these things i would think something would throw a code?

I wonder if x-delete will eliminate the 1% wheel diameter restriction on xDrive vehicles?

xdrive, 4motion, quattro ( haldex).

I have an RS3 with staggered setup (OEM from Audi) 255front-235 rear.

originally it came with Pirelli PZero , had 0 issues.
then after some miles I installed Michelin Pilot Sport 4 , issues sometimes.
then tried Michelin Sport Cup 2, issues sometimes.

now my setup is 255-255 MSC2. 0 issues.

In my 435 xdrive have non staggered setup and no issues.

my setup front and rear have been: 225/45 , 245/40 and 255/40, 0 issues.

conclusion, best thing is going square.

Maybe it's the the overall diameter bigger or smaller than the OEM 26inches. Basically an rpm/speed mismatch.
