Boostane Vs E85

So I thought I start this thread so I'd stop hijacking other threads... lol.. anyways ... E85 isn't readily available for lots of people and since you can get Boostane on Amazon Prime I'd thought I'd start this thread.... Now to start off this is an incredible BMW 335i Dyno chart from Boostane claiming major horsepower on a stock car... how believable I don't know at this point... so here is the chart.... now if this is true I'm looking forward to a tune with this stuff and wondering if I can run this stuff on a E85blend map on MHD ... at this point I don't see why not... thoughts?...

P.s. I emailed Boostane directly to get there feedback...

i bought a case of this crap in the spring....no comparison to a e85 tune....

it alleviated a bit of knock correction on the mhd stg 1 91oct map....

i don't recommend it....money better spent on pokeman cards....

I would love to see someone with logging capabilities test some of this stuff. Searches result in mostly Charger/Challenger board posts with many claiming it works wonders. Note from the posts found though, its not cheap.

Boostane isn't meant to be used instead of E85. E85 tunes have a different AFR than gasoline. Ethanol is oxygenated fuel whereas gasoline regardless of octane isn't. Boostane could allow you to run a 100 Octane tune if you used enough, but not an E30 or E85 tune.

I agree and if I was to use the boostane it would be to run the 95oct map for MHD! E20/E30 maps would require the use of E85 plain and simple.

Greetings! I can say from experience that I felt a huge difference with a can of this in my 2014 335i M Sport with just under 50K, FBO and no Cat. In fact, when I set my JB4 to map 7 my clutch started slipping at about 3K after a half dozen hard pulls. Set it back to map 2, had no issues, ran out the rest of the tank and never messed with it again...lol... Don't wanna put the money into upgrading my clutch at the moment.

helped stabilize the timing with the clearly crap 93 octane near me:

It just kind of varies a little bit naturally. Your results could be coincidence and they could also speak to the effectiveness of Boostane. Just sayin'

It's the boostane, I've been running it for a half dozen tanks and it's consistently better than the straight 94 I can get.

I agree with paimon, I have tried octane boost, logged pulls and it has shown to improve timing nicely. I'll use half a bottle for half a tank of gas before going to the track - the car feels fantastic and timing is spot on.

That said, boostane or any octane booster does not compare to E85 if your car is tuned for it. I just burned through a tank of E30 mix and I feel bad for my poor clutch. The car pulls noticeably harder than on the 93 tune, whereas the boostane offers no perceptible difference in power.

Boostane on a 93 map might not show big gains or butt dyno (just mix it for a 95 octane instead)
But if you do use Boostane 5gals with 8oz of it to turn into 100oct then the RaceGas OTS from BM3 will be perfectly suited for it.

I saw Demonology on Youtube, guy had better Gains on Dynojet on his Demon with 100oct tune than SunocoGT and GT Plus Race Fuels. Also proved it in the 1/4 mile

There's 18-20% Sale right now on Boostane's website go grab those 5 gal pails

So I'm gonna buy a 16oz bottle and mix 2 ounces per 12gallons which should give me 96 octane and then I can run the 95 MHD octane map just to see.... will be good for 8 fill-ups like that...

Keep us posted on this. I'm curious.
I think I'll do the same ratio but keep running the 91 map at an upcoming track day and see if it eliminates the timing corrections I'm getting on crappy Cali 91.

Will do... by the way... never ran this car to Empty on the gas gauge... how many gallons does it hold to fill up from empty so I can do some basic calculations...

I think your 335i is just under 16 gallons (15.8?).
My m235i is under 14 (13.7?). . . .wish it was a couple more gallons . . .

Dont mean to threadjack.... BUT, has anyone used RACE-GAS ULTRA Race Fuel Concentrate? Its about the same price as Boostane on Amazon, but 110 octane. Same situation with E85 for me.
