Using Sig to add things up... I refuse to calculate the rest and won't count any labor costs or used maintanence items to preserve my mental health.

Bootmod3 - $595
MPE - $375
GPlus FMIC - $200
KW V2 - $1850
F80 LCA/TS - $700~
Apex SM-10 - $1300
Hankook RS4 - $800
Hawk HP+ - $230
RBF600 - $40
StopTech Lines - $100

Total - $6190

There are definitely some odds and ends I'm forgetting... best left forgotten.

Lmao that's what I was thinking myself after doing the math on how much I spent.
I'm assuming you're including the cost of the car as a "mod" right? The F series doesn't really have THAT much you can do to the car

Not sure replacing tires that you wore out with same size tires and headlights is considered a mod.

Man this is great. It's like therapy. You guys are my support group.

One of the reasons I posted this is because my wife thinks I am insane to spend money on a perfectly fine car. She just doesn't get it.

I plan on keeping this car for 5 years so I know I will keep modding little by little.

This could happened..

I'm not gonna list mine ... let just say about $2100 I spent. Soon going to add wheels maybe $1200 set.
Not sure that could really happen in the US. I've bought and financed a bunch of cars. Even though I might not have had the title they were mine and I did what I wanted with them. Never had an issue. This is very strange.

Btw, tires not a mod unless you bought a tire when your old tire is still new. Mine is almost time to replace tires.... drove for 28k miles on them SSR RFT
Completely agree. Modding keeps the car interesting and entertaining longer. I want to say I also have a budget but sometimes I've gone over. This car doesn't need much so it should be under 5k for me.

Yeah, I flip-flop in my mind whether to put the tires into my maintenance column or not. They're a lot beefier than whatever stock run flats came on the car when I bought it, so I considered the first set a modification.

The DEPO headlights are a cosmetic modification over the stock halogens that it had (I detailed in my ownership thread that this car was a complete stripper model with basically no options). The replacement headlight was due to a wiring issue that actually wasn't solved by replacing the headlight at all either so it was a pointless purchase.

For sure man... I do one mod every year....first year mod was my most expensive mod $1700 for awe quad exhaust with midpipe. 2nd year, dinan sport tuner (used at 150 then sold it after 4 month) now Bm3 $500(xph December sale). Wheels suppose to be a 3rd year upgrade but my tires are going out and pushing me to buy it sooner at 2.75 yrs...lol.

In this thread, if you're winning, you're actually really losing LOL.

I definitely don't feel bad since I didn't spend 80k (including mods) on an F series, but most of the M3 guys spent stock Porsche GT3 prices, so it's all relative..

now this...

Mine is completely stock as it came from the factory. Won't it be worth more as a collector this way?

I wish.......

Oh, I did change the tires to go flats, but that can be easily reversed.

This is very true. Unless you really make a shit ton of money you really need a budget with cars. I have learned to study up on finance and invest quite a bit. Most finance "gurus" recommend not buying a car on credit. If you can buy cash or a small loan you can't afford it. I live in the real world and work hard for my money. I splurge a little on cars but still keep it under control sort of. I bought my car for 33k so almost half price off of new sticker that came with car.

The reality is if we were really smart with our money, none of us would own a BMW or European luxury car.

With that said, fortunately I've spent even less than 33k, including all my mods. I was just lucky the seller had no idea what he had and sold the car to me for the same price a dealer offered him, which is always super low. Still had factory warranty on it too!

I am already around $6,750.

Rims
Exhaust
Intake
Downpipe
BM3 Tune
XHP Trans Tune
Spoiler
Rear Diffuser
Carbon Fiber/Alacantara Interior

Still want to do...
BMW Performance Brakes
Coilovers
Sway Bars
Front Lip
Side Skirts

So another good $5K... for a total of $12K.
