But a lot has changed, better products in both sides. He set the WR for Fxx series N55 at 11.2 back in Sept 2016 then bunch of PTF/BM3 kept going deeper in the 11s and few in the 10.9s

Awesome knowledge nugget there. Thanks for sharing. Do you have a link to the full article? I'd love to read it.

This was quoted from a study:
High ethanol blends have been shown to permit higher CR operation. Caton et al. [10] showed that for E85 blends, the maximum brake torque (MBT) spark timing could be maintained up to a CR of about 13.5, whereas MBT could not be maintained for gasoline and E10 past a CR of 9.0 in a modified CFR octane rating engine. Nakata et al. [11] showed at a CR of 13.0, MBT timing was knock-constrained for E0, E10, and E20, but not knock-constrained for E50 and E100 at the tested conditions. Stein et al. [12] evaluated a dual fuel system, where gasoline was delivered through a PFI injector as the primary engine fuel, and E85 was delivered as the secondary engine fuel as-needed to prevent knock. It was found that under turbocharged conditions with a 12.0 CR configuration, the maximum amount of E85 required to prevent knock at peak load was less than 60%, which is effectively about E50. The work here is unique in that it investigates, in combination, the effect of several high CR in an engine with DI fueling and with ethanol blends.

He's working with Halim@HCP because since he's PWG it needs a bit more attention, if you're EWG you can get this started by selecting the XDI pump option in your Map of choice. Flash it and log it for PTF

You can also email support@protuningfreaks.com and let them know you're EWG + XDI Pump with your logs.

Stock Turbo + XDI Pump? choose your 93 or E30 OTS map
Upgraded Turbo + XDI ? choose 2H 93 or E30 OTS map

To my test for years in M2 application, without high octane and ethanol, stock pump is enough to handle stage two turbo thru fine tuning. I'm sure lesser N55s are more octane limited than fueling.

Here is one log on stock fueling (no meth) and pump gas, among tons of others. The turbo is G Power 500p.

Best being 7.9s, but that's one hit wonder. Normally it's low to flat 8s. I stopped watching these time already, can't compete with S55 the way my car is tuned (I stick to pump gas, no ethanol, no meth). I know some European guys are seeing low 8s with stock turbo on meth/ethanol. But to give some context, M4 gts does middle 8.5s stock here. FBO stock turbo M2 mid 9s.

The beauty of this map is the power band, responsiveness and drivability.

I am only going to use the e30 blend tune for 1/4 mile times, which I'm hoping to do when the weather improves.

There is increasing evidence to show that the stock pump is the limiting factor if you want consistent power, without the pump crashing.

Even before this experiment with e30, on 93 I'm hitting peak boost of over 20. No way is that possible on the stock pump.

I will post the numbers when I get them of the 93 tune.

Raymondo, you're not going to hit 20psi with pump gas in the first place, at least not above 4k where power is made. It's the octane first which is my point.

This pump upgrade will help hugely in your case. Looking forward to seeing your results.

The pump works, and makes a difference. Several people are now showing this with amazing results on 99/93.

@Raymondo1234 I've seen and done many enough to know N55.

PS2+meth takes F20/22 to high 6s to 7s. Nothing else needed. I have a local Copenhagen buddy (M135i) does that just at 22psi. That car is incredible fast because it's lighter than many think.

Tuned a stock turbo FBO + meth M2, 430whp, 20psi taper to 18, high 8s in 100-200. This is our 'abuse car' we used to find M2 stock turbo limit.

Did one PS2 M2 on pump gas, STG2 OTS 400whp. Turn on meth and use Jb4 running 20psi, a high 7s car. Didn't dyno that setup, I'm sure it'd show 470+. Didn't push 22+psi, though hardware allows. My friend doesn't need more power, he tracks with me.

And countless middle 7s S55 car with just a BM3 OTS and 9.5s FBO M2 flashed.

No mention of my personal Dinan turbo and GP500 turbo tuning.

My experience with tuning all these cars is that when you have octane limit, easy way is either to have ethanol (which require bigger pump or PI) or to install meth. But meth is much more effective because it's cooling IAT and supporting fueling as well.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish pump upgrade improves power on pump gas. I'd pay double, triple money XDI/TTFS ask. I even tell Halim that I want to burn 2k just to give a try, knowing it's not helpful in my case. He advised against my proposal.

Man this is commercial and someone has a dog in this business. I'm a car enthusiast and I speak with what I know. That's all.
