Longest distant trip in the F30?

Thinking of doing a 1500k trip one way, have 24k on the clock, 2015. Who's taken the longest trip on here? Fear of being stranded, hate to admit.

One day - one way? ~1000 in 15 hours. It was a part of a round trip of about 2100 in 6 days. About 110k on the clock at that time.

We used to do 1050 miles, one way, all the time.

I've taken my 335d on a ski trip, 1200 miles one way, about the same back.

Highway miles are the easiest miles on a car; far easier than daily commuting.

Back in 2015 I had a f30 328i 2013 and we took it from Miami to NY and back and from Miami to Chicago and back. I purchased it new in March 2015 and yes you read that right. Had only 26 miles as it was sitting on the dealer lot for two (2) years.

OP, at 24k miles your car hasn’t even popped its cherry. You’ll be fine.

5800 km in 8 days without any issues. Mileage was around 50k km at the beginning of the trip.
Being properly serviced, a car should have a pristine mechanical condition at 24k miles, I suppose.

Mostly highway? Will be a walk in the park.

1500K of constant city driving however, i wouldn't be very confident.

Done the trip from outside Toronto to my parents place in Tarpon Springs Florida - roughly 2300 kms one way - a few times in my previous F30 with no issues.

Usually drive straight through with only stops for fuel and food.

You can drive 1500 miles in one shot, or drive it in 15 one hundred mile trips, or drive it in 1500 one mile trips. It all adds up to 1500 miles.

Fear of being stranded? Why? Are you taking it on safari in some remote area?
My son and I did a 3,000 mile round trip from Philly to Miami and zig zagged to visit a dozen colleges along the way in our 2015 335ix. It was a great adventure. Got over 29 mpg. Found some really nice roads. Highlight were the roads in and out of Charlottesville, Virginia. Beautifully paved rolling hills and curves.

Before the trip I changed out the stock parts for Koni Special Active dampers and Eibach springs to soften the teeth rattling over highway road seams. Since then I've ditched the runflats for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and they have also improved the ride and handling.

On long trips now I carry a full sized spare in a cheap zippered round tire carrying bag (using an old runflat) along with a Slime 8-minute Kit ($45 at Walmart), a scissor jack with a rectangular head that fits BMW jack points. ($25 at Harbor Freight) and a breaker bar with 17mm socket ( also Harbor Freight)

My personal long trip tips:
Change oil, check tire pressures and maybe add 1-2 lbs for mostly highway driving, check fluids and top up windshield washer fluid. Change wiper blades if worn at all. Clean windows inside and out with glass cleaner from RainX. Much better than Windex. Apply RainX to outside of windshield. Bring RainX glass cleaner & roll of paper towels on trip to clean windshield and headlights periodically. Case of water bottles, mini-cooler, snacks, fruit, pillow/blanket for alternate driver to rest, umbrellas and two beach towels in case you get soaked in unexpected rain, happened twice!

Hope this helps!

So long as you're up to date with maintenance, I don't see why there would be a problem. As others have mentioned highway miles are a breeze

This summer in my 2019 F36 I did 8549 miles over 5 weeks driving from the Pacific to the Atlantic and back.
Zero problems, great comfort and 29 mpg average.
Pre-planned an oil change in New England so that just took an hour out of my day.

Not to be a stickler, but do you mean 1500 miles or 1500 Kilometers? Because 1500k is 1,500,000 miles, and that's a lot for one day.

As for your question, with only 24,000 miles on your car, as long as there are no maintenance issues when you start, you should have no issues. Longest I have done was 350 miles round trip to Toronto, 2 weeks after buying my car.

Haha you are right 1,500,000 miles is a lot for one day, may need some maintenance along the way.

I have a 2018 F30 with 25000 miles and have driven all over the south with kids for soccer. I have been very pleased with my car. I keep the maintenance up, check to see that the tire pressure is correct, etc. Good luck!

I've driven from San Diego to Penn State (5000 miles + round trip), from Salt Lake to Penn Sate (4000 mile round trip) and many trips between Salt Lake and San Diego (1500 mile round trip). Really never stop except at a rest area for short naps.

Had one issue ... feel asleep on route 80 one trip, clipped a road sign with my drivers side mirror. Very lucky losing my mirror was the only damage.
