Not aware of any specific time frame but considering we are talking about raw data that doesn't take a lot of storage space its entirely possible that historical data could be obtained from day 1. Again, this would not be a normal occurrence and would take an extraordinary event and some effort from PUMA and BMW AG but it is possible when talking a major engine failure or other big ticket item.

The one on the Apple Store is for the full dinantronics elite unit and not sport. Got to have a friend with a droid you can use for a few minutes, no? Temporary solution to appease the fix.... =)

So let me pose a question here: I've got an early 2013 F30 335i with MWG and MPPK/MPE installed. What kind of estimated hp/tq would I be looking at with the 3 and 4 PSI settings running 93 octane?

I think the m235i's have our n55 engine with the mppk standard so your baseline is probably on par with this thread. They dynoed the car with Stock setting and Race setting but with 91 gas in very hot weather conditions. You will get higher gains with 93 of course.

Gain ~10whp and ~35wtq on Race setting with 91 gas.

Thanks, but the M235i's have the electronic wastegate and a larger-diameter downpipe, so they likely have a slight advantage over my 335i with the mechanical wastegate (4" dp versus 3.5"). Still, another 3-4 PSI should make a noticeable difference, and for <$300, I may go for this product. I've had Dinan flash tunes in the past and was very happy with them.

Apologize for the late reply, must have missed the earlier question.

You will see essentially identical gains as the M235i irregardless of the slightly smaller DP.

Does 93 vs 91 octane make any significant diff? Everything around this part of the country is 93, and I have a couple nearby stations that offer ethanol-free 93.

It does make a difference. On some engines more than others but if you have access to 93, use it. You will be happier if you do.

How accurate is the boost gauge in the app? I recently bought this for my totally stock 2013 535i xDrive and just picked up a cheap android phone to try the app. When starting the app, the gauge reads +4 psi... there is a zero button which zeros it out. Peak boost read +15 psi with the gauge zeroed which seems too high. This is with the box set to +3.0 psi... I have yet to try +4.0 psi, but even at +3.0, there is a noticeable kick in the mid range.

UMDterp That could certainly be correct. On my 335ix I do have the MPPK but I've seen my OBDII reader app get just over 12psi just gunning it 0-60.

Ok thanks for the reply... perhaps it is ok... just wasn't expecting the number to be that high.

Anyways, I really hope the iOS version of the app comes out and its made a bit more intuitive. The switches/button don't really make sense, but it gets the job done I guess.

The app is in the process of getting tweaked. Hence why it is technically a BETA release . The re-zeroing, and a reset button in general are the main areas of contention in general... It does do its job, just needs refinement.

Talk to any of the Dinan distributors here on the forum and I am sure they will find a way.
