just bought a similar one from ebay wasnt yellowspeed they sold out but same price, same looks, probaly same item. If you can take more and post more logs in the time my intercooler comes in, it'd be nice, so i can see if I actually want to install or not hahaha

I'll wait to see more results but if this is essentially the same unit then someone has some explaining to do selling it for $800

I'll have time later this week, will pull some logs from a few hard pulls. But I've been driving the car for a couple days on it...feels great. My tech commented that it fit perfectly, no modification, no misalignment, nothing.

Did he have to remove the bumper or can you slide it in from underneath (that's what she said)?

You can do it underneath. It's how I did my Wagner.

Is there a DIY install for a fmic? I tried searching but only found this and the original three on the $200 fmic.

Remove the underpanel, the intercooler itself is only held in by two torx (I believe) screws and then you just remove the two pipes. Done.

Little more to it then that but pretty much. He's gonna struggle with the 2 plastic clips that hold the horseshoe clip on the inlet pipes. This has to be removed as well before just dropping down. Also highly highly suggest replacing the o rings if you have any type of mileage north of 35-40k especially pushing harder boost.

Boost leaks will plague you to death. Do the o rings while the intercooler is down.

Less than 10k miles here. For $200 can't really go wrong.

I wasn't insinuating anything. Of course Mike is a trusted seller. I was curious as some jack@zz trying to sell one on the forum indicated there was no part number on the 'Wagner model' he was selling so he couldn't confirm the model was a competition model.

I haven't had any issue, I just lubed up the rings so they don't pinch or bunch up during reassembly.

Yup there you go. I'd do it if I didn't have one. I bought mine used out of a lease part out but $200 even if it's bad I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Boost leaks aren't really a concern, that'll happen more with hoses than it would with the intercooler. The build on the thing is really good.

Don't listen to vendors who have their own pocketbooks in mind. I've been around the industry and the BMW scene for a long long time, I've even sold parts in the past...trust me when I say that most of these "tuners" get their stuff from the same factories in Taiwan. AA and Wagner have IDENTICAL intercoolers. I could go on Alibaba right now, contact the manufacturer of this intercooler and ask them to cast my logo on the side, and sell it for $600. No one would know the difference.

Wow, am i the only one that feels a tinge of annoyance that the vendors completely shat on this IC on the other thread? if kpeng's notion is true, then there's a lot of people out there that are way overpaying for their wagners...
