Pay attention to the shifting smoothness/quality after adding the JB4 and let me know.

OK

Send me a list of used parts if you sell.......

Did you dyno with latest mapping?
You should do at least 475hp with Pure Stage 2, no?

Does anyone have an idea about the AH3 Gear Ratio?
According to a PDF the gear ratio is the same as 335I, except a different final drive.

That is my understanding as well. From what I've heard, the diff on the AH3 is the same one from the Diesel. I've wondered many a time if I can swap the rear end for the standard one, but I don't know if the computer will bitch in some way and its not worth the investment to just try. Luckily, Quaife does make an LSD kit for the AH3, so that's on my radar for the future.

Noob question incoming:
We have longer gears than the 335I. So how can the 1-8 gear ratio be exactly the same? Thanks for explaining.

Well if the diff ratio is different then the gears can be longer. Better for mpg bad for performance.

Gears that are in the transmission itself are the same size, however the final drive ratio of the rear diff is different, causing the effective gearing to be different on the two models. This seems like a fairly decent quick explanation: http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...ing-explained/

You could just run smaller wheel/tyre set that would give the same effect. Plus lighter rotating unsprung mass, all good things ;-)
and same incorrect speedometer as changing the diff final drive ratio.

I could, but I want an LSD. Just need to decide if I want to keep the same final drive and get a Quaife, or change it and get the M Sport.

Get a Quaife. I love my Quaife.
Plus the 335i has a difference driveshaft as well, yours may not work with the M Performance LSD, that might end up being quite costly if you need to change that too.

Good point. Not sure why I forgot that as I just replaced a broken driveshaft.

Not great, actually, and I wonder if most of it was due to operator error (not me, as I was just a bystander). I'm currently looking around for another dyno to run on, and if it does the same thing, then I guess I have a problem to find. Here's how the day went:

1) BM3 final tune, put 385WHP
2) Stock Tune does 320WHP
3) Back to same BM3 tune, 420WHP/465WTQ

I don't think any of these numbers are correct. The last dyno I had on this same machine about a month or so ago was on a lower boost tune with a misfire on one cylinder and it made 416WHP. This current tune feels WAAAAY stronger, and I know is making significantly more boost. I looked at some of the logs I had from the runs and it looks to me like the guy 'driving' didn't know how to get a solid pull in 4th without a kickdown so he babied it a bit too much.

I pulled a few times against a stock Camaro SS (455HP crank) later in the day and we were pretty much dead even, but then got whooped by a 335is that claims only JB4 and catless downs. Logs look OK to me, but I'm no expert (clearly) otherwise I wouldn't feel like I have no idea what's going on.

Thanks for the update. That's strange.. and I believe you should be faster than the 335iS.
I tested against a m135i manual and m235i 8AT with both JB4 and downpipe and it was a draw.
Do you have a dyno graph?

Here are my numbers:
Stock 323 / 397nm

Stage 1 Flash tune: 397 / 578nm

After two weeks: Went in limp mode several times, so I went back.
They restricted the torque. Don't know the numbers.

After 4 weeks: Went in limp mode a few times again, brought the car back, they restricted the torque again. Didn't know the numbers untill last week:

Dyno last week (after 8 months): 353hp / 513nm

I'm not happy with this last dyno result. I'm now going back to my tuner to have the 397/578 map activated on Sport+.
In this case I don't think I will encounter any limp mode errors, because I barely drive on Sport+. And if that's doesn't work I'll also try BM3.

Kickdown is a problem on our cars, even in Sport+. I'm ordering the BMS Kickdown blocker.

However I think the 5th Gear is the correct Dyno gear? Or at least that's how they do it over here.

Will keep you posted!
