It would melt your cat if you had it on stage 1, this is why you need a downpipe for it to work.

So if I have a Fabspeed High Flow cat it'll melt that too?

So if a car is bone stock with a drop-in filter and MPE, would you recommend this tune over say MPPK? Asking for a friend

Huh. I guess BMW NA is pretty evil for enabling that same feature with the standard MPPK which retains stock downpipes

Normal burble is fine, gunshot burble or mild gunshots is not

Most of the time a high flow cat allows enough flow through it to not reach the temps you find in a stock cat, however I would check with the tuner and see what they say.

I just know that a tuner setting this feature up on a stock cat has melted them.

Ok? So this tune will be able to give me gunshot or mild gunshot burble without the possibility of normal burble? I am sure they can

subscribed. Why must there be so many choices now? I keep flopping back and forth. Have FBO sitting in the garage with a JB4 in the box. Been waiting on warmer weather.

What to do?!

You need a catless downpipe for gunshots.

Wish they had started the beta testing a little earlier... I'll be watching the threads closely regardless.

I have a question - how is the DME unlocked through the ENET cable/laptop - do we need BMW coding software installed or is this done through a proprietary program or web application developed by PTF?

I second this question. I hope the answer is no!

I would also like to know if there is advantage to bench unlock with Bootmod3 as I have read there is with other OBDII flashes.

This is awesome. I am currently FBO and can't wait to get my hands on this. Will the ECU/DME unlock also remove speed limiter?

Bm3 does an exact match on software version on the car unlike others. There everyone is doing one same version.
Bench is still king but as you can see the new BM3 features is unlike other tools. The only advantage as we know is not needing a bench unlock, remote, convenience option, and those worried about pulling ECU.

Closed-Beta guys will need Windows Laptop and apply for Beta after License and PTF will enable this on the account as they're testing on a dozen car before releasing to public. Might need ESys (they're working one car basis scheduled in calendar time) so they're not taking random customers without having the requirements first.

OBD unlock will facilitate those users in areas without Unlock Dealer or having to ship ECU
But still remains that Bench has its advantage

Vmax Delimiter is part of Tuned Maps

Darkiedm4 is the UK/EU Dealer for PTF he can add anything else

Do you get any less performance with OBD2 unlock? Or is there a different aspect that I am missing? Seems like now ob2 unlock is a no brainer if your hundred of miles from a Dealer and really dont want to strip out the DME...

I have an Esys cable from when I coded some features out. Do I need a different cable to use the bootmod software?

How does the DME OBDII unlock work?

What is the difference between the "bench unlock" and the OBDII unlock?
