I went BM3 and i don't regret it! but I had this Shower thought...

Why is the MHD unlock so slow (25 mins~) compared to the BM3 4 minutes?

Can the "coding" methods be that different?

Initial flash for MHD is about 20mins, all flash updates after that are roughly 2-3 mins.

Might also be the difference in cables.

One is D-Can. One is Ethernet. Ethernet is much faster.

Hopefully MHD bring ENet support at some stage.

AH!! He didn't mention that in the post and it makes a lot more sense! Still pretty solid for an N55.

If you use the regular cable with MHD its over 50 minutes to install. With the faster beemer geeks cable its over 20 minutes. To change a map its 3 minutes. Ethernet or as they fancy it “ENET” on BM3 is like 30 seconds to change map. It does Wifi too! I don’t think its a big deal either way but I don’t like waiting too long getting anxious waiting to try a map LMAO

Indeed!

For me, the time is a big deal.... When it comes to flashing.... the less time the better. But i'm still intrigued on why the difference is so big?

I think it was stated before but BM3 is Ethernet, MHD is DCAN. DCAN is a much slower com protocol.

I sent a message with questions to AA via their website last weekend and still have no response.

Not impressed with follow up at this point. They don’t seem to be too interested.

Nicely done, if that's accurate

That’s a great time but why not use something that verifies runs because I’ve used apps in the past and got lots of questionable results.

Yea I definitely will eventually. Was just a trying to get an idea of what times I would get. And honestly the 0-60 feels spot on I've been saying it comes at 4 sec if not quicker ever since I flashed. The only questionable time to me would be the 1/4 mile. All though I don't think it's impossible, 11.6 is pretty damn fast. Maybe 11.9-12.1 but that would be spot on with the M4 so I would definitely be happy with that!

Don't bother trying to contact AA thru the website - you'll get attention if you email either Andrew or Nic directly. They both answer fairly quickly

Sent ya a PM with their contact info...
