Nice numbers. That is great

Consider going catless. Those high flow cats aren’t going to be that great and I read that there is a smell with them just like going full catless. Not sure it’s worth the money. The good ones are 1200-1300

Dynojet in all occasions. What I cant answer is stage 1 or 2 or whatever? There only one ECU flash from AA, and never heard to described as stages.

Ok guys.. here we go. Send me a PM if you want the full Excel file with all of the data columns. Ambient air temp was 55 degrees throughout.

Initial glance is serious heat soak on the second run, but about at 15min break or so between runs 2 and 3.

All of this data is being rolled up and sent off to AA as well for review and possible changes to the flash build, depending on what they see.

Interesting data points:
Max speed on any run: 145.4008637 mph
Max boost on any run: 15.22896194
Max IAT (2nd run of course): 136.3999939 degrees F

Interesting observation: The power and torque gauges seemed oddly close to most of these considering. Both pegged out at roughly 360ish which isn't bad considering who knows how it estimates this.

Here is the graph with all three runs in one:

Now the best single run:

Now the best run this time, compared to three weeks ago, red is the 3/31 run.

Here is the graph for run 1:

Here is the graph for run 2:

Here is the graph for run 3:

Which stage is this?
Do you have a stock run/numbers? or pre-tune run from same day?

Bone stock a year ago was 300/300.. digging around to find the actual chart. No bolt ons, no additions, bone stock.

Can you define stage 1 or stage 2 in this context for me? I haven't heard AA call it a S1, and unclear of what would change to make it an S2?

Typically stage 2 is defined by the addition of a catless dp.

Since u already have a fmic they probably have u mapped for decent boost though. So I’d consider you in between 1 and 2.

A downpipe is a big mod on these cars.

I’d also add that your current mods aren’t really performance enhancing mods. An exhaust, intake and fmic don’t increase power. Another words of you take that tune off I will guarantee u make +-5hp vs your stock run

Ah ok.. really appreciate that. I am literally in a holding pattern waiting for the new AA high flow catted DP, as soon as they can ship it. I will be back for another dyno pass once that is installed.

Once that is done, I am probably at the ceiling of what I can do reasonably, unless I change out the turbo.

Also understood about exhaust, FMIC etc not being performance mods per se, but supporting mods. Just listing out everything even vaguely engine or performance related so folks can see the whole picture.

Totally agree a fmic is a supporting mod. When u get the downpipe. You should def get a new map. So you can experience the benefit of the downpipe fmic and tune all working together. In this case you should be 360-390 depending how good the tune is. I will say this though. I am not optimistic on the aa high flow cat. If it’s the same cat as the fabspeed one it should be pretty decent. But even with that I think you will be on the low end of the above window (versus catless which could be on the higher end).

But yes. Definitely get an updated map before u hit dyno again

I also wanna say that yes. Once u do dp fmic and tune these cars are pretty much done. Going upgraded turbo or meth is a level of modification that most aren’t going to on this platform as it’s a daily driver car. I know sure as heck I won’t be. I commute 80 miles a day in this thing. It’s a commuter car. Not a race car. If you can get 375 hp out of it it is a great fun car to drive.

Since we have similar mods you may have a similar tune to mine. In the email accompanying the tune Nic said "Because of your other mods, this is a little more aggressive than a typical Stage 1. A little closer to a catless Stage 2 but with the stock cats in mind."

The file name of the tune was Stg1+.

Having said that. That’s very high for stage 1. He is stage 1 correct?. I called for 338 and I thiught I was being optimistic. Every tune in stage1 is gonna be 320-340. So he is on high end. His car made great power stock so I think he had a solid car. I think the mean will be lower.

The trouble is these cars are heavy. It’s gotta be dp and stage 2. I think stage 1 isn’t going to feel quick after a week of owning it.i am not sure 12s are a given with stage 1. Especially if you are manual and not xdrive
You talk a lot of nonsense. How many times have you personally dynoed your car... been to track? Just curious.

(Recommends catless down pipe... in the instant regret DP thread you literally state the opposite of what you just said here.) All you posts are "I think" "you should be" "I read".... instead of making so much unnecessary noise, why don't you come in with actually hard data (and not stipulations) behind your statements.

Im manual and not xdrive. I'm right by CT too. Lets run... I'll even give you the jump

I am not getting into a pissing match. I am experienced I will tell you that both at the strip and Roads course. I’ve posted my own logs as well. I am not sure what I have said that’s conflicting. A dp is a great mod for performance. They stink though. With a family it’s a tough mod to get behind. How about explicity pointing out what I don’t know and we can have a discussion. Calling someone out to race on the Internet is pretty silly stuff though. And I won’t be a part of that. I am here to learn about a new to me car so I can get little more performance safely. I also try to share what I know, as I’ve done here. It’s too bad that upsets u. Fact is running a manual six speed at the strip requires much much more experience versus a four wheel drive automotic. This is logic. But I also speak from experience. If you think otherwise than that is ridiculous.

Thanks

Ah yes.. I see your point now. My latest build from AA, including the 3.5 TMAP update and M4 sport gauges was titled: AATuned_Stg2+_R1-2_(3.5b_tmap)_F32_435i

I thought you were also already running the 3.5b sensor with the specific tune to go with it?

And yes, I also got both the Stage1 & Stage2 tune that includes 3.5b sensor + 480/480 guages - currently I'm running the Stage2
