Not entirely, what can happen is that the battery runs out of juice and therefore you're left with the petrol engine only, it doesn't really matter to tune the car but it doesn't give you the whole picture of the car combined torque/power.

Ah cool, I wasn't entirely sure if I was getting fobbed off with bad gains. Thanks for that.

The only thing I am unsure of is if that number was of North American cars only or Worldwide.

I would need some EU Vins and Asia Vins to see if they were in the same sequences.

Most of the hybrids were destined for NA/USA to help with fleet numbers. Obviously, diesel is still big in EU and not in USA/NA

Speaking of rare, I came across this when looking for VIN numbers (again, yesterday to give you info) for 2014 and 2015 AH3s. VIN confirms special paint.

Put $5k into paint, but no real tech goodies.

Europe i think starts at VIN F298800
There is potentially a third series (model code 3f91 for europe, 3f93 for NA, 3f92 for UK)

Actually that sequence runs from F489600 to F490599....or 1,000 PWG vehicles. Very similar to USA number.

It also means that the 1485 total AH3 was a USA only number as that would make a thousand in UK up until 7/2013.

USA was just under 1,000 2013 and 35 2015. 2014 had around 300 iirc. Rest from 2012.

So there are 1,000 3F92 in that sequence.

F489600 to F490480 were built prior to 7/2013 (or 841 certainly MY 2013 PWG and the remainder 159 all built in early July 2013 on the edge). Hard to think that they were building on 6/30 and cars on 7/01 suddenly became EWG.

Need a vehicle vin from later in 2014 or 2015 to get the total count.

That apparently holds all the 3F91 models for EU with WBA3F91040F299582 being the last built on 5/27/2015, like the last USA Build.

That is a total run of 783 3F91 in EU.

As F298800 is a 10/2012 build, I am guessing no MY 2012 AH3 in EU?

Using F299159 as the last built vehicle in June 2013, and F299494 was last built in June 2014, we can make a (dangerous) assumption that in EU 3F91

360 MY 2013
335 MY 2014
88 MY 2015

EDIT: Given @Horleys response below as to build date and MY, It’s safe to move many of these 2014 cars into 2013 MY and PWG.

Just to be clear, you have a MY2012 VIN F489638 that was built on 28 September 2012?

That certainly blows the assumption any build dates after July 1st as the next model year.

I'm not sure if it's at all related, but it appears I have a bad hybrid battery (or one of the internal control modules is bad) and that is causing a drivetrain error. Over the past few months, I've purchased most of the salvage AH3 batteries (if not all) in the US and have rebuilt it a few times. Despite that, I still get intermittent alerts that a single cell is bad. I'm thinking at this point it's one of the internal control modules that have gone bad. I'm at the point where I need to decide if I want to keep testing shit, or just buy a new battery. Only problem is they cost $5k+ for the part alone.
That alone was the reason I purchased a non-BMW EW for 5 years that specifically covers hybrid batteries in its coverage. Most EW do not. Cost me $700 extra but I felt it was a pretty good bet I would need new batteries.

It paid for a $800 repair/part this week as well. I did have to pay 1.7 hours of Diagnostic as total was 2.7 and they only cover 1.0 hours of diagnostic time.

If i'm lucky i'll be able to tell you tomorrow... there should be a burble slider now in the latest version, didn't have a chance to try it yet as I got my license code yesterday and my battery charger.
Were you able to flash your car?

Actually, given the numbers in UK from VIN numbers above, odds would be greater spotting one on the road in that small concentrated area than anyplace else in the world!

And considering you have not seen one.....

Located in the US, Salt Lake City area. Stock 2013 with PWG. Approaching 95,000 miles. Installed JB+ and JB4 in the past but both caused CEL's from various sensors so went back to stock.

Yes and no. You get full Electric boost on kickdown, and you cant kickdown on dyno.

I'll make a post of my current sound tomorrow. No blurble but sounds okay.

Just back from the tuner, here's the dyno sheet

Before
Setup : Stock tune, Hi flow cat, Akrapovic exhaust, FMIC, BMC air filter
Dyno says 430Nm (320lb.ft) / 328hp at the wheel

After
Dyno'd at 590Nm (435lb.ft) / 387hp

They attempted a first tune at 640Nm/415hp but it didn't hold in 4th gear, only in 5th, so they reverted to the one above.

Weakness is fueling system they say, with HPFP at max capacity.
I don't really want to bother with meth/E85 or Port Injection so i'm fine with that.

Curious if anyone knows of a HPFP upgrade?

Apart from that the car is pulling like a freight train now, no DT malfunction or anything after 1h30 drive home, edrive transition is as smooth as before.

Now i'll try to put BM3 on top of that to see if we can go get sth better, and some burbles maybe?
proTUNING Freaks what do you think

I think i've seen this come one around a lot:
http://www.fuel-it.com/f-series-n55-...-lpfp-upgrade/
But I think it needs a JB4 to work properly, or not?
