That link I provided suggests the various transmissions span the 3 series line. It may be possible the heavier duty tranny's could bolt right up. Replace the 335i with say the diesels tranny. That would address the tranny's rating. More weight and very expensive option. Ill be waiting this one out too despite the fantastic numbers.

Anyone have insight into the stock clutch on the 6sp? I'd be willing to bet that the factory clutch probably isn't rated anywhere near 500+ lb ft of torque.

all the above is why I will stick to JB stage 1 for now.

Does anyone know what the e90 auto tranny is rated at? I mean all those e90s with JB4s, Dp, exhaust etc have 10s of thousands of miles with such high output numbers yet apparently no major problems like tranny failure...

It appears them may not be direct bolt ons. If you look at the two tranny's spec sheets you'll see different dimensions. That could cause a whole host of bolt on issues including the need for a shorter driveshaft, etc.

No way I'm going to want to have to spend $5,000+ for a full tranny upgrade and possible drivetrain alteration. If that's what it takes to handle a stage 2 tune with a D/P vs. just a stage 1 with no D/P, I'm stage 1ing all day long.

Most is the case with the US companies, European companies tends to differ. My whole point was no one knows for sure how much power these trannies can take. I have seen transmissions take 3 times their rated limits and I have seen transmissions bust under factory load. But ZF usually underrates their transmissions.

Will the F80 M3 transmission be a possibility? What about the F10 M5 transmission?

That's one thing the 6mt has going for it. Power and torque increase, throw in a clutch for about a grand and call it a day.

A stock auto handling 10% over it's tq rating is one thing, 30-40% is really pushing it.

New m3 might be good as you might not need a custom driveshaft. F10 will definitely mean more custom fab work.

The N54 6sp Steptronic has a lower rating and people have run over 450lbs without problems so yes it is very likely.

I don't understand what some people are saying with the engine tranny's on here..

Are you guys saying, if we want to run Stage 2, we will have to upgrade our transmission?

Back on topic of the tune...

So Mike-is there any feedback mechanism to tell you what tune you're running?

Are in-dash controls in the works, or is the F30 gauge cluster just to complicated to mess with

Does the stage 2 for the F30 clear codes?

Does the stage 2 handle the rear o2 sensor delete for running a castles DP? (does the stage 1 do this as well?)

-Also, I find it interesting that all 3 maps line up after 6k rpm. I guess at that speed we just run into the volumetric limit of the stock turbo

For any addl info you'll need to check BMS' forum where they release updates, etc. But I know it has a DPFIX built in for the downpipe, and automatically deletes all hidden tuner codes.
