The plan was to replace them on the f30 muffler and reinstall it on my 335i and see what the result would be. But due to chamber 1 and the shape of the pipe this seems pretty much out of the question, as there would be way to much custom work and too much labor involved. Im trying to keep this as simple as possible.

So plan B is to open up the muffler all the way, so that I have access to both top and bottom, and spot weld every single hole individually in chamber 1 and 3.

Ill update as I go.
e jedva cekam da cujem, sta mislis da li ce imati problema sa warranty, can they even find out you did anything since its on the inside of the exhaust, I guess they will notice it sounds different

Already welded mine in, left half of the holes open, half welded.

Sounds deeper and more gurgly!
No drone at all!

Great Job. You should not get any drone as long as you have the center chamber.

Sorry for the holdup guys!

The process was only to cut into chamber 1 and remove half of the insulation and cover only half of the holes.

Living with the sound difference for a few days made me wish i had closed up the whole tube and removed the whole insulation from chamber 1. The positive side is, if you just want to go quietly about, it will only turn heads when you step on it. Considering i travel with my family all the time, the last thing i want is a lousy exhaust, i think i achieved a moderate grumpy sound with a touch of loudness, still without being intrusive at all! (with the music up you still wont hear a thing)

WARNING! the wig stuff is fiberglass composite mix, dont breathe that stuff, dont touch that stuff, dont even look at that stuff, take it out and dispose of it, it WILL become airborne after a while. You have been warned.

And finally, i dont like uploading things to youtube so have the video file instead!
Filmed it from underneath but the sound is identical standing from behind

Man that freakin bad a$$..... Hmmmmm.... I'm pretty handy and do all of my own mods but I've never welded..... Maybe time to buy a new tool?

I am a little curious why you only opened the 1st chamber up and not all three like the OP...

Because we used gas to cut through the muffler, leaving a huge gap to fill when soldering.. That meant a lot more $$$ to close it all up. And really i don't see a point on opening the whole thing just to get to chamber 3... and you might screw up the chamber divisions.

The sound difference is quite noticeable with the few things i did, as you can see in the video.

Čekam samo da mi ga drug vrati pa cemo svi cuti. Što se tiče garancije, neznam nisam baš siguran, nebi rekao da bi unistilo garanciju. Ofarbacu auspuh crne boje da se neprimeti gde je varen.

This gives me high hopes that it will sound good. Glad someone else tried it as well. I'm definitely welding all the holes and leaving the insulation. Can't wait.

What i think could be a valid debate is wether leaving all the insulation in and soldering the holes will have any effect against taking it all out.. Maybe less drone that way? I know for a fact that leaving the holes and taking the insulation out is a bad idea..

Austin "danger" Powers lol. Serbian/Croatian sounds a ton like Polish or Checzh. Even Russian, but I can't understand a word Russians say.

Ill post up as I go, I figure about another a week or so ill have it wrapped up.

You and are thinking alike . I want to see if this works and ill sell my m perf muffler as well. That's a nice move with the muffler tape and testing it. Reading your post and your past experience in doing this really makes me think I'm doing the right thing and it will be a success. Ill defoentely post up pics and sound clips.
So there IS some drone with the M Perf Exhaust (as mentioned above in comfort and ECO mode)???
