BMW M Performance Power Kit Now Available for 2012 and Later BMW 335i Sedan.

Increased power, responsiveness, and sensation are hallmarks of BMW’s fully-developed kit.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – March 26, 2013…
BMW today announced a new M Performance Power Kit for the 2012 model year and later BMW 335i Sedan and 335i xDrive Sedan models. The M Performance Power Kit joins the existing M Performance Parts line which includes chassis, aerodynamics, exhaust system components, and trim accessories. Developed through consultation by the engineers at BMW M GmbH, the M Performance Power Kit is immediately available through all Authorized BMW Centers in the US, with MSRP starting at $1,100 (plus Installation) and retains BMW’s 4-Year / 50,000-mile New Vehicle Warranty when purchased with a new vehicle.

More Power. More Dynamic. More Emotion.
Once the Power Kit is installed, the vehicle’s rated horsepower is increased from 300 to 320 on all models. Automatic transmission-equipped models enjoy a 32 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 332 lb-ft), while manual transmission-equipped models benefit from a 17 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 317 lb-ft). All models receive a re-mapped accelerator pedal calibration for more dynamic throttle response, and the Power Kit produces a signature, highly-emotional “exhaust burble” sound during engine overrun conditions. 0-60mph acceleration is improved 0.2 seconds compared to standard 335i models, while 50-75mph times drop by a full half-second.

The BMW M Performance Power Kit features comprehensive engine tuning via advanced software 335i and 335i xDrive Sedan models. The kit includes updated software or replacement engine DME (electronic control unit), high-capacity engine air intake system, signature BMW M Performance engine cover, and rocker panel decals. This gives the 335i Sedan or 335i xDrive Sedan a substantial power boost (+20 horsepower) while retaining the original 50-state legal emissions certification and fuel efficiency ratings.

Installed with Confidence.
The vehicle’s original BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty is not affected by the installation of the M Performance Power Kit, and Kit components are covered under warranty for the duration of the original BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty (4 Years / 50,000 miles) if purchased at the time of new vehicle sale, or for 2 Years / unlimited miles if installed later.

"The kit includes updated software or replacement engine DME (electronic control unit), high-capacity engine air intake system, signature BMW M Performance engine cover, and rocker panel decals"

Jason: Is that correct information? Will the kit include a new air intake system? (The description on getbmwparts.com does not mention this)

Yes, why can't the dealers figure out the install time for a post November 2012 build? I have been getting install times ranging from 30 mintues to 3 hours. I would expect that BMW would have determined a standard shop time for this by now.

There will be a video posted soon from BMW that shows a PPK equipped 335i F30 on the dyno (at Dinan) making more than the quoted power gains.

1. Install time for pre-11/2012 cars (with DME) so I can work with my dealer
2. The Dyno video will be excellent (am I the only one who finds it ironic that it's at Dinan, their competition?)
3. Quoted 0-60 and 50-70 times (they quote reduction in time, but I don't know where they are starting from).
4. Have they seen gains when combining the PPK with the M Perf Exhaust like many of us have?
5. Do they provide a tattoo outline for those of us who don't want the stickers on the side sills, but still want to be fan-boi's when at the beach in Jersey Shore and show the dilution of the brand and M Performance pride

Thanks!
Suneil

Yesterday, we brought you news of the availability of the F30 335i M Performance Power Kit (PPK) [full details].

The PPK increases the 335i's horsepower from 300 to 320hp (official factory quoted figures) on all models. Automatic transmission models will experience a +32 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 332 lb-ft), while manual transmission-equipped models benefit from a +17 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 317 lb-ft). 0-60mph acceleration is improved 0.2 seconds compared to standard 335i models, while 50-75mph times drop by a full half-second.

Well, these figures are conservative, as they often are from BMW. The following video shows the E90 335i N55 PPK (also factory quoted at 320hp 332 lb-ft) producing 336 bhp / 377 lb-ft torque on the dyno (performed by Dinan and at a 15% drivetrain loss).

Excellent video, few issues:
1. That's not an F30 on the dyno for sure.
2. Seemed like a promo video for their Dyno facilities...

In the end, a 1/4 trap speed will be our best measure, lol!

Genius, read where the video was posted, F30 is written EVERYWHERE

Just needed to point out to others it's not apples to apples, even though it's the same motor, because the TRANSMISSION IS DIFFERENT.

Well...that's because 6MT doesn't have a "torque converter".

You can keep the torque converter and the extra 15 lb-ft, I'd rather drive my 6 speed .

I've got our other car for my 6-speed fix. Just seemed like the way to go with this sedan. Previous E92 was 6MT also. I like this 8AT for the overdrive - 1800 RPM @ 70mph.

As some of you are aware, the ppk just became available again for post 7/2013 production of 335/435i/xi.

There is a pdf floating around on this forum stating this and my SA verified it. For those who's car is awaiting production in Germany (like me), be advised that this is not a factory installed item. It's recomended that it be installed at the port as opposed to your dealer due to the cost savings. My SA is getting me pricing and I will forward this info along.
