And now the MSRP is up to $1500. I think its BS that they charge more than the prior 2 versions and per the manufacturer sheet takes only .5hrs to install.

Admittedly I am tempted though...

FWIW, getbmwparts.com sells it for $1350 and sometimes runs a $50 off coupon. The 0.5 hours is just for the physical bits -- an engine cover and a new bottom to the intake. It takes more time to install the new firmware.

Any idea if it will affect the warranty if I buy it from them and install it at the dealer?

I don't think it matters. I would ask your service advisor first.

I just bought my MPPK from getbmwparts.com and had it installed on my MY2014 today. My dealer didn't mind at all. I *think* getbmwparts.com is actually a BMW dealer anyway.

Ok sounds great! How much did your dealer charge to install the kit? My service advisor is telling me that it is going to take the whole day to install because they might run into problems flashing the update even though the bulletin says it should only take 0.5 hour.

I was there about 4 hours but they washed it (complimentary swirls, I know) as well. He was going to charge me $362 but ended up making it $290 when he found out the DME didn't need to be replaced on the 2014. Apparently this was the first MPPK this dealer had "installed" on an F30 (surprised me).

P.S. The tech did have the physical bits of it done in 30 minutes or less. It's basically the bottom part of the intake and the engine cover, then one sticker under the hood. I didn't want the other stickers anywhere near my car.

WTF?????

I paid a lot less than that for essentially the same thing.

Congrats BMW for fleecing your customers for the same....exact product.

Seriously. With the same warranty & EPA estimates, the only advantage I see is that BMW wasn't ready and needed more time.

Do pre-July 2013 production cars receive the updated software with the revised hp/tq numbers, or is it still the old part number with lower numbers? Sorry if this has been answered before.

Why do the post July 2013 F30's get the revised M Performance Package with the higher numbers?

Seems odd.

It could also be a nice marketing ploy - they know that the enthusiast owners would pony up the money for the tune down the road. More money for them and the dealers to install.

1500 bucks on a 60k+ dollar car when it raises the hp more than 10%?

Seems like a no brainer to me.

That is incorrect; it varies according to continent and country.

More details here:

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-br...fferences.aspx

You can have M Sport with 340mm front and blue calipers; However the M Performance is the highest grade Brembo 370mm + 4 pistons front.

In the US, blue M Sport came with just 2 front, and lengthy forums revealed how confusing that option was. In Canada as well, unless one had the actual M Performance Package code, you got the smaller rotors with some blue calipers.

Once you replace the initial rotors with M Performance, the 370mm standard replacements are dimpled/slotted 370mm.

It'll be under warranty for 1 year IIRC.

Just got my car from BMW, it is confirmed, 400/400 as hp/torque, the car sounds amazing, I was laughing with joy while driving my car back to work from the dealer... when in sport mode you can hear the turbos tssssssssss.... when you are decelerating you can hear the blurb...

They also provided me a base 328i XDrive loaner... that is not not a true BMW, that is Camry, it looks and drive really cheap on top its engine sound that is terrible... Once again, 335i M-Sport is THE WAY to go, I want to drive this car till the rims falls off.

I'm really, really happy!
I'm considering purchasing a used 335i M-Sport with MPPK, manufactured 05/13. I believe this was the build date for your car, which did show the 400/400 on the displays. Were you able to confirm if you did in fact receive the 335HP MPPK?
