I have no idea. It was a 1 page article talking about the performance parts for the new 4 series.
Ah! For the 4 series. That does not necessarily mean that the PPK for the 3 series will be the same as that for 4 series.

WTF, with the New N55, right?

I'll be REALLY pissed if I went through what I went through for my PPK N55 and a "new" kit comes out with 15 more hp...

I would expect that it's the same for the 4 and the 3... if it's not, that would be a pretty big (marketting-driven) slight to all the 3 series owners.

I'm just wondering if it's actually a different tune, or if they've just changed the numbers (thus making them more in line with actual gains)
Either way, it's smart; now that the F8x M cars raise the bar yet again in terms of power, not as much concern for cannibalization... and it puts the numbers more in line with the competition (e.g. S4, etc.)

So if I have a 2013 335i in my driveway right now and I want the PPK I have to wait until fall or later, but it will be more powerful?

I think if you get the tune you should see some performance gains over the older tune.

The 4 series deserves the extra power to distinguish it more from the 3 series. If the 3er gets this tune I will get it, whether I delete the old one or if I have to pay an add on fee. I love these tunes.

I agree that the tunes are worth it... but not that the 4 deserves a more powerful tune to distinguish it from the 3.

The 4 needs something to distinguish itself, the additional bump makes sense. But that will be inconsistent with BMWs play book. I guess we will all get it

The other thread on PPK has the dyno numbers. The tune is underrated anyway. Point is it feels much better driving the vehicle after the PPK due to the extra torque/power and more importantly the improved throttle mapping. This is how it should have come from the factory. Definitely worth spending $1200 on a $55K car to make driving so much more fun.

i would say it would be 1,000,000 times more fun if you put that $1200 into however many HPDE days you can go to. whats so fun about driving in the city?

Like CCA events?
Those are $330 or so per event, and I agree, if you can do those, money well worth spending!

I think SCAA events for sure, but those AutoX's beat up the car too much IMO.

Actually you are right, the 335i without the PPK was really not that much fun. PPK changed that. Seriously it is difficult to subjectively explain how driving the car in the city can be fun too.

In socal there are all sorts of groups that org track days. Check motorsportsreg.com and itll show all events in your area. Autox is great to learn car control in a safe space before heading out to the track. Its not that hard on the car except on tires.

Once you start having real fun, city driving becomes mundane. I actually drive slow on the street now.
