However, everyone says the exhaust note gets louder, but I sincerely have to think carefully before agreeing as I cannot notice a substantial increase in the exhaust tone. BTW I have the MPE, and it sounds really good in sport mode.

Maybe I need to take her out for a long distance run to "open" in up a bit? ...
If your MPE product code ends with "339" (as I guess), it will be slightly louder after break-in, but nothing special and almost disappointing for me.
US version ("340") sounds louder, deeper, more aggressive! Awesome, in one word!

I recently had the ppk installed at the dealership (July 2014). I know the ppk has been updated to put out more HP. Does anyone know the number? thanks

A 2014 model, due to a 1/2" larger OEM downpipe, puts out 335bhp with the MPPK - versus 320bhp with the previous/smaller downpipe.

Eh? Where did you red that?
So that means that also a 2014 stock 300hp N55 has better performance than a previous one, even if BMW claims the same power and torque, isn't it?

For those who've put on the PPK, can you tell me what the part number was? And if you could put up a link as to where you bought from would be helpful as well.
Thanks,
A

PS> And Thor435, great pics. Thanks for putting up the before/afters.

this is for $379 JB stage 1, stage 2 for $579 will give way over 400 hp
And explodes the engine

I'm not aware of any N55 engines exploding because of any tunes, JB4 or otherwise. Not that it hasn't happened, but as someone who lurks on these forums I've never heard any reports of this type of thing.

Thank you for putting up such detailed information. However, I have a quick question regarding the HP and Torque. According to the spec on MPPK, HP increases to 320hp (20hp gain) and Torque increases to 332 lb-ft. So, why is that the "Sport Display" picture you put up is showing 400 HP and 400 Torque? Or do you have some other tunes in addition to MPPK? Please elaborate.

Regards,
The product description reads:
  • Sport Display now shows increased power figures to reflect increased performance.

Since the "old" sports display was showing 320 max torque and after the upgrade the car will produce more than 30lbs of torque pushing the gauge over 320 so BMW just upped the display to 400 torque as well as HP to match. It has nothing to do with additional tunes or upgrades...

Maybe BMW expects those customers that are buying MPPK that they would perform additional tunes that would push the limit of the gauge so they set it at 400 max.

Okay, that makes sense ... thanks for elaborating! So, even though the gauge shows 400/400, you cannot actually see your car hitting 400/400 in Sport and Sport+ mode either. Got it

I would add a charge-pipe with or without a tune. Charge-pipes have gone bad even on stock cars.
