Well as soon as you put it in sports plus is sounds completely different, very low bass rumbling every time the gears change and deep burbling every time I let go the accelerator. I recorded the video on a Nikon camera not proper video so sound might be diminished however I had driven another 435i with out the modifications and definitely sounded nothing like mine. Even the BMW guy drove it and was grinning from ear to ear , said it sounded like the M4 they have. I will try to get some one to film me going past full throttle changing gears and then lets see if it sounds any better.

@Gelatoman45 I quote myself to let you hear at the MPE US Version: that's how our MPE should sound!
Sorry, but you cannot compare your dad's car MPE sound with another stock 435i, because your 435i does have the MPPK, that causes more "burblings" and noise from the exhaust.
Please, check your product number

PS sport and sport plus are exactly the same at a sound livel

Here's my car with just an ER catless downpipe. Stock exhaust. I think it sounds sick.

Surely, but I'd prefer to let my cat where it is

I made a comparison on youtube. Stock exhaust, then M Performance (brand-new installed). I'm not impressed by the sound for the moment, but I'll give it some time.

Cheers

As I wrote you on youtube, no way man The sound will not change so much
The (famous) problem is that we are in Europe and in Europe BMW sells the "339" version of MPE, that sounds worse than "340" version sold in USA...
I mean, my MPE (like yours) sounds better than stock, but if I had known the result before I would have spent my money in other optionals...

Are there any modifications to be done for the muffler in order to give more vital tone?
WHY on Earth did you buy an exhaust without having listened to it first??

You Can open up the chamber and modify the inside to improve the sound, but give it some miles as other mentioned too.

Why?
1º, you can expect that BMW gives you a good product for 1.200€!
2º, who could imagine that there were two different versions, one for the US market wich sounds better and one for the rest of the world?
3º, in my case I had MPE on my old E91 335xi and its sound was awesome!

Okay, I'll give you that making to versions is F'ed, but I don't think all BMW product are super products.

Living in Venice you're close to Slovenia. Why not take a trip to see the Akrapovic facilyties!?! Then I gaurantee you will order one of their exhausts instead.

It could be surely a good idea!
But after having spent 1.300 euros for the "339" MPE, I think it's better to wait for a while...

I've had mine for 5,000 miles now. The sound gets a little better over time. In Sport mode with your windows down it really sounds nice.

I've gotten compliments from friends who've noticed that the exhaust sounds different than stock from my start ups and me just leaving their homes, I don't even get on the throttle or anything since I don't want to be that idiot who speeds or accelerates too quickly in residential areas (I don't tell anyone that it has MPPK or MPE because they probably don't know what any of that is and/or don't care).

Yep, sucks to be in California.

I pucker up every time I pass a cop due to my lack of front plate and 20% tint.

Has anyone yet considered the fact that the turbocharger acts as somewhat of a silencer and that's one reason why the exhaust doesn't immediately change tone when the muffler is changed out? My wife's 2011 128i convertible has the BMW Performance Exhaust and is 3 times as aggressive at startup and idle as my 2013 335i with the MPE and MPPK. On a cold start, when the wastegate is wide open, it's comparable, but once the wastegate closes, it gets much quieter. When you get on it and the engine is under load, the MPE gets louder, same as when I had Dinan exhaust on my previous E92 with the N54 engine.

All that said, the MPE does sound much better than the stock unit, and does require some "break-in" miles, but it's not going to make any Lamborghinis pee their pants...

Have you yet considered that we had talked a 100 times of the differences between two version of the SAME MPE for 335/435i, the #339 and the #340?
That's the point
What you wrote is right, but it is not the point

No, I hadn't considered that, but apparently there's no real point to this discussion. You're just not going to make your 335 sound like a Mustang GT with ANY version of the MPE.

No, the real point to this discussion is that I simply would want my UE 435 sound like an US 435 or 335 Is it too much?
