Great pictures, I especially like the snow mobile one.

I'm jealous seeing the map on the idrive display but not the maximum speed one as I'm not that brave. A diesel on a drag strip had never crossed my mind.

Lovely colour btw.

A little optomistic...
Assuming no transmission mods, from what I can make out,
4700rpm in 7th gear is only 169mph.

'only 169'

Only managed a 12.81 at Pod. Quite disappointing but I later learnt my tyre pressures were way too high + the weather was ridiculously hot. G31 340i Touring only managed a 12.91 after several 13 + second runs.

RE Top Speed pic. Car was pulling well just ran out of road. By no means is that vmax.

Best Dragy runs

Cheers.

Quite a generous spec car. Only 1 of 207 RHD F31 Individual Tanzanite Blue 335d's produced for the UK. Interior is Individual Extended Opal White Merino.

Is it stock, or have you had it remapped? Impressive figures I think, especially that 0-60 dash. What was your terminal speed on the 1/4 mile?

Thank you guys. The car has been remapped by Unicorn Developments in Stockport. The MPG shot was taken when the car was running Alpina gearbox software. I really recommend it .. the stock software holds gears way too long for my liking.

I’m now running xHP Stage 3 gearbox software - it takes some patience configuring it to your exact specification. I’m very pleased with it now.

Terminal speed over quarter mile is 109.57mph.

Unicorn Developments will be working some magic soon to extract more performance out of it - should make the wagon a little faster. Those boy racers won’t know what hit them …

I have probably not got the patience to play around with XHP settings ... I am glad I didn't spec electric seats for the same reason ... i would be making adjustments all the time !!
Would you say the Alpina is good enough as an upgrade?

The main advantages to the Alpina Gearbox map is comfort mode upshifts will happen sooner allowing the car to sit at lower RPM. 8th gear will be engaged sooner. Your dashboard view will always tell you which gear you're in. In sport and sport + the shifts are aggressive. Its how the car should've left from factory IMO

Also it will use 8th while in Sport mode and cruising.

This is tempting me now!

Never understood why you can't hold 8th in sport mode.

It used 8th in Sport on my July 2016 M140i, so I think they changed it at some point.

When I went back to the 335 it really annoyed me so had the Alpina added, its so much better and really suits a remapped 335.

Concur - I use sport mode (340i) on motorways quite a bit, as it uses 8th above 70ish, although it is obviously very keen to downshift with even the slightest throttle increase. I didn't realise the ZF gearbox is tuned differently, depending on the engine. Interesting, although obviously makes sense when you think about it, at least for diesels. I wonder if the different petrol engines also have a different map.

PS lovely car OP - us 40i monkeys are of course forever indignant that a diesel F3X that can return 56 MPG is also quicker than a B58.

Running a Stage 2 tune now. Sat behind a lorry this morning for a couple of junctions on the motorway genuinely couldn't get the MPG to drop below 60,

Let us know what else they manage to extract !!

I’m running a “basic” remap from them and would be interested if they’ve worked their magic to extract a bit more oomph - assuming you’ve got no hardware upgrades en route.

Hey Kal. The wagons been for its final power upgrade courtesy of Ricky @ Unicorn Developments. 2hrs of fettling the 400bhp target couldn’t quite be achieved as the car struggled for air. We eventually settled at 391bhp / 812nm - very pleased with how the car feels now. Power delivery is very linear and progressive, pulls like an N/A engine - Ricky is a wizard. Haven't managed to get any Dragy runs yet but it does feel like a 4 seconds flat to 60 and 12 seconds flat to a quarter mile car.

That’s pretty decent. Rick really does know his stuff.

I got 373bhp and 750nm from mine running their map without any real fettling.

I’m tempted by a bigger intercooler in order to try and achieve the 400bhp and 800nm.

I’d imagine the 812nm of torque would make a massive difference

Never managed 56 mpg though even with the Alpina flash.
