Debating upgrade 328 to 340

I have a year left on my 2016 328 xdrive lease and contemplating upgrading to a 2018 340 xdrive.

My 2016 VIN K503322
The 340 VIN A576238

Looking like I can get into the 340 for $750/month taxes included.
- no money down, first payment due on delivery
- winter tire and rims included
- 4 year / 96,000 km lease
- wheel and tire protection
- lease end protection

Looking like it’s a pretty good deal, but wanted some opinions if I should just wait for my lease to expire and get the new G20 or pull the trigger now.

Called insurance and it’s going to cost me a whopping $10 more a year for the 340 over the 328.

Wait for the G20 or wait for a 340i steal deal.

G20s will be much more expensive because of the higher MSRP and interest rates. M340i will most likely run you 1K+ after taxes for the first 2 years.

Pick up the F30 340 and enjoy the bigger engine for ~3 years at a good clearance price, then switch to the G20 when interest rates are low and prices come down.

Unless you really, really want the G20, it is a horrible decision to get it right away - high MSRP, low discounts, high interest, and could be filled with tiny issues since it is a first model year.

That price doesn't seem bad at all for the 340.

Do it! You'll probably be paying $750/month if not more for a G20 330i... G20 M340i will be more than $1,000/month for a decently spec'd vehicle - probably out of your range if want to stay conservative with cost.

Personally, I'd get rid of the rim & tire protection to get the rate even lower on that 340i

Went to dealership yesterday for 2018 330i. I was offered DEMO 330i M package for the price of basic 330i (45K). The DEMO 330i M Sport Package has 10k on it. The package is worth 4K + 1.5K for Adaptive light.

What do you think folks?

You can do way better. 2018 3 series are on clearance, you should realistically be able to negotiate a brand new 330i M sport down to the price of a basic 330i with the ongoing discounts to clear them out. My recommendation would be to set a realistic monthly payment and tell them to take it or leave it. Works all the time for me!

+1 The first year new model issues need time to be resolved. 2012 F30 models are a good example. I think 340 is a better deal without sacrificing much in performance department.

That exactly what I did, I visited other dealership and compared prices for M Sport I package. Long story short, I found NEW M Sport II package for the price of base 330i xdrive. Picking up my new toy on Wednesday .

Thanks for your feedback.
