So...Although I have not yet picked up the car, I'm already planning some small changes including:

-Window tint(install date 12/17)
-BMW 624 M wheels w Pirelli's (spring/summer)
-Dinan Stage 1 v2.(Install date before end of year).

The 624 wheels are not my first choice, I tend to run HRE's (135i and my current M3) but the 624's (wheels and tires) are free. I've attached pics of the wheels for reference.

So, as this car doesn't have adaptive suspension, what are my options for lowering? What have others done(spring vs coil overs) that has not negatively effected ride handling?
Thanks

Wheels are pretty sick. I'm not a fan of the two tone, I would paint them dark monotone but that's just me. Will be nice regardless.

For suspension, my car is stock. But from what I am interested in for street not track.
AC SCHNITZER - Best street springs, even out the xdrive gaps.
Coilovers:
KW Street Comfort - Good Coilover for the street
Bilstein PSS10 B16 - are preferred for adjust-ability and maintenance

Great. Not to far. I was at Thompson for a card and coffee in October. My colleague buys from there. Seems like a good dealer! Car looks great - enjoy in good health!

Fully agree. They've been responsible for my last two builds (FBI 135i & F80 M3 ZCP).

Window tint gets installed on Monday

Hope to go in for Dinan Stage 1 v2. In the next week or so.

Wheels & H&R lowering spring once it warms up a bit.

So after approximately 24+ hours with the car, here are my initial thoughts.

So far, I'm really loving how versatile this engine is. I took it out on some back country roads and was able to push it a bit. This B46 is great engine . In Sport+ it absolutely pushes.

In pushing it though, I ID a few real weak points in the car.

Brakes
Brakes are not confidence inspiring. It seems you have to apply a lot of pedal pressure to make it feel like they are biting and engaging. In addition there seems to be some brake shudder when braking from approx +60/65 mph. Any thought are appreciated!

RFT's
RFT's are just the worst, extra harsh over bumps, they don't feel like they have great grip.

suspension
Car is clearly set up for comfort (xdrive ride height is nuts).

As you shift lanes or go into a corner, the combination of mushy/comfort suspension and crappy tires makes the car feel floaty, it floats and does not feel precise.

I hope to make changes to some suspension & tires by moving to the H&R lowering springs and BMW M Performance 624 wheels & Pirelli summer tires.

Anyone recommend a not too expensive brake upgrade approx $1k?

The blue Brembo M Sport brakes were a factory installed option with the "track handling" package checked.

You can still get OEM BMW (Brembo) kits from your favorite parts counter but only in red, yellow, or orange if I'm not mistaken. These have larger front discs than the factory 2NH option as well.

BMW of Silver Spring (MD) beats that ECS Tuning price by >$350, but shipping may be costly for the monster rotors & calipers! You can put the other part #s in their site's search box for other pricing.

As an alternative, you could probably just put in better pads, do a thorough bleed, and see how you like the change. If you plan to track, you could also look into a proper AP or Brembo BBK which will arguably be better than the factory BBK.

The current brakes probably feel soft because the car has sat for a while. Try 5 X 60mph to 20mph hard braking in a row, then wait a few miles and try 'normal' braking - you should notice a difference.

Although it is a concern that you notice judder at relatively low speeds.

As for the floaty feel of the car, the F31 does indeed suffer with that, also understeer if you really push.
