MHD adapter connects with MHD app but not Bimmercode/BM3/xHP
Hello,
Pulling my hair out here trying to get my MHD wifi dongle to work with my apps. I can connect to it no problem with my android phone over wifi, and the MHD app works with it (just using it to scan error codes to test the connection) but it doesn't work with any other app (xHP/Bimmercode/BM3) Tried a friends iPhone, and she's able to get Bimmercode to connect, but when connecting to the MHD dongle she loses all cell data / internet (which is explicitly what is stated should not happen in the MHD documentation) meaning it's still somewhat useless (for xHP) and I don't want to buy a Bimmercode license just for her phone. I have an OBD to ethernet cable + USB-C adapter too that I was using with BM3 (via my laptop) no problem, but it doesn't work with any of these other apps on my android (maybe its the ethernet to USB-C adapter- I had one for a work laptop that I just was using, maybe I need a phone/android specific adapter?) At this point I dont even care if its with or without the MHD dongle, I just want to be able to use bimmercode, xHP, and BM3. I just spent a lot of money on licenses/maps for these apps, not to mention the MHD dongle being $80, and none of it works. And I still don't understand why the OBD to ENET cable can't work with these apps, so if anyone has an option they've used for android that worked for them, I'd happily return the MHD dongle that so far is an 80$ fault code reader. |

Good info found here, particularly the first link if you're having connection questions. FWIW - the MHD Black looks to be a preferred connection adapter for xHP...
