Help with tire sizes for Staggered VMB wheels w/xDrive

I swear I scoured the net before I got here but haven't found a straight forward solution so I am posting out of need not laziness.

I purchased a set of Velgen VMB's for my 2013 F30 Msport Sedan on stock suspension. I have no intention of lowering because I am in CO and will put my winter set on for the mountains during the boarding season. I am very aware I need to keep the rolling diameter under 1% and 3% under factory original.

They are the staggered 19x9/et35 and 19x10.5/et45 wheels.

Has anyone been successful finding or can suggest tires that won't irritate the transfer case, rub and are not stretched? I was going to go with the Ventus V12 in 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 but wasn't sure if this combo would work?

Any help or insight from you guys would help immensely.

Thanks

oem F3/4 tire diameter is 26", 285/35/19 is 26.9". your set up will work but however 245/40/19(26.7") & 275/35/19(26.6"), 0.4%, would look and drive better.

here is an example on a F36...https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1622695&page=2

for tires i'd consider yoko advan apex v601, general g-max rs, falken fk510, as well.

Thank you, Car looks awesome.

I would prefer a 275 over a 285 for tramlining and handling but was worried about wheel exposure. Will I have a fully exposed wheel edge with 275's?

obviously, there will be 5mm less protection than a 285 but the wheel edge should have some protection from the curb protector built into most low pro tires. here is a pic of 275/35/19 on a 10.5.

ignore the lowest pic with a 295 on the same wheel

There are huge differences in rim protectors and they are valid also on slightly stretched tires. First of all, be sure you buy a tire with a protector (usually marked with "RFP", "FP" or "FSL"), few comments from my experience:
- Goodyear's have excellent rim protectors (Eagle F1 Asy 5 has possibly the best one I've ever seen of UHP tires)
- Michelin's PS4 and PS4S have also good rim protectors (and still extremely attractive looking sidewalls)
- some Pirelli's PZero have good rim protectors, too (even better than Michelin, but it is very difficult to choose the proper tire -> needs to be checked before buy)
- Continental's CSC6 have minor rim protection, not recommended
- Bridgestone's (as S001) have rather poor rim protection (but better than Conti)
- As Vredestein should be finally available on the US market, the Ultrac Vori (not sure about Vorti R) have good rim protection (similar to Michelin, I would say) combined with possibly the absolutely best-looking sidewalls

My suggestion:
- if you want very capable but comfy, lightweight tires with excellent rim protection -> Eagle F1 Asy 5 (option: check Hankook Ventus S1 evo 2/3, I am not sure about the rim protection)
- if you want more sporty, sharp handling tires with good rim protection and attractive visuals -> PS4/PS4S (option1: Eagle F1 SuperSport - not sure about rim protection, I haven't seen them fitted on wide rims yet, option 2: Ultrac Vorti - subjectively similar performance to Michelin, but high rolling resistance due to weight and worse braking)
