2012 3-series F31 touring first spotting!
The F31 2012 3-series touring variant of the next generation 3-series has now been spotted for the first time! Although not much of the car's details are yet revealed, the overall shape and proportions are very attractive, much like those of the stunning F11 5-series touring.

... seems like all the spy photos show 3-D cladding to throw off the shape lately.... ~FRost

Yeah, but what I feel my life really needs right now is a 3 series GT, something like this but taller, and slightly uglier
<joke> I don't think I've ever been as curious about any new model as I am about the F30's styling. The E90 was a "grower", and it did grow on me - without a doubt... but with the new generation, I don't want to stand behind one for the first time and have to think.. "huh, it's a Mitsubishi Carisma..", like I did with the E90. |

Too bad it sounds to me like we'll likely never see the likes of this car in the States at all, let alone with a turbo...[/quote]
+1 agreed...i think BMW DE will probably skip this for the NA market like they just did with the F11... sigh... sucks to love BMWs but live in the US... |

Huge? What's your reference point? The proportions look similar to the current e91 to me. It almost looks like this test mule is using a current generation rear bumper. I agree that it will probably be bigger than the outgoing model, but only slightly so.

i really hate that bmw doesn't offer a turbo wagon in the states, & you guys are saying this wagon might not even come here in the NA option...fail...right now i'm looking for a wagon project, so i'm forced to shop audi..not that it's a bad choice, the avant a4 is beautiful but i'd love to stick with bmw if they offered me a 300hp wagon!

I'd love an F31 with the naturally aspirated I6 and manual transmission, RWD. Please BMW. I'll trade my 325i in for it right away. I really will.
