It’s been a while.

Just wondered what options UK people know or have experience with upgrading to apple car play.

I have the standard Idrive screen still my original 2012 320d

Mr12volt works great on my CIC e90. I assume the same unit works for the CIC in early f30s.

Edit to add: Mr12volt is great because it interfaces with the MOST bus for the best audio quality instead of the android units that use 3.5mm aux for audio.

NO, check your screen connection, on F30 you can have some CIC style menu with an NBT connection, an "hybrid style"...

The best quality-price carplay is road top in my opinión, also free and fast shipping. I mean no one is selling head unit carpkay replacement for 200-250 bucks

Mr 12Volt only works with the Alpine HUs. Single DIN Magnetti Marelli, nope.

Integrated Automotive MMI-1000 would be your best bet if you have the MM and crappy 6.5" screen, but it's expensive, but its good!
