As featured on Bimmerpost Homepage.
We bring you the first look ever at the next generation BMW 3-series sedan (F30)!! We didn't expect to see the test mules until after the F10 5-series reveal, but it looks like we're getting an early peek at the F30, which is due to be out in 2012. Let the strip tease begin!

Those look like AP Racing 4-piston front brake calipers or similar. That's interesting. The rest of the body looks terrible. Hopefully much nicer under the camoflague!!

I agree proportions look nice.... I'm guessing that a lot will change between now and when the release will happen!

I heard that this car will bow at the end of next year or sometime in 2011, instead of 2012. Why they decided to cut down the life cycle of the E9X is still a mystery. I believe the E46s lived for 7-8 years, while the E9X has been around since 2006

It looks like a monster truck! lol what's with the jankass trailer?
Love how short the rear end is and that front end definitely has some potential. Seems like the car is relatively proportionate to the E90, but hopefully whatever the hell is on those mirrors doesn't make it to production. |

No worries, it's just reflective tape or plastic. You see it on all the early test mule BMWs nowadays.

Nothing but camo tape and panels. We wont see the real thing for awhile. They are probrably testing the new drivetrain and suspension components.

How exciting. The car looks bigger to me, and nicely proportioned.
I can't wait to see what they do with the interior, and whether they decide to splash out and put their new instrument panels in from 7 and 5, even if they are scaled down somewhat... also imho, the interior needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard with its competitors... This made my day

True. The lifecycle of current models will be a bit shorter - since quicker shift to new platforms will allow reaching better profitability than today. |

Now if you can sell more cars by updating the design more frequently, and those incremental sales are enough to surpass the development costs, then that's another story.

You guys always amaze me with camouflaged cars. I simply can't get excited or disappointed with them. There's just no way I can tell much.

I was hoping for some clues about the 4 cyl turbo and weight reduction strategies. Proportions appear fine. Might help to impose/overlay outline of current E90 from photos taken from identical angles/distance. Maybe a PS maven could even shave off the padding.
