2013 3-series
hey guys,
i was shopping for a new rear aero package on my dealership website and i came across this! i supposed it's a pretty "reliable source" considered this wind came straight from the dealership and they have the most direct knowledge about the new 3-series from the bavarian land. most pics i saw here were what i think is a new different genre of 3-series more in tune to the new release of 5-series gran tourismo. hope i'm not wrong about this. anyway, spread the news and share these pics with everyone here. thanks! |

Wheels Magazine (Australia) lined up all the 5-series cars from inception together with the latest. It was very clear from this picture that the new 5-series was a development, not of the previous (Bangle) one, but of the one before!
Since I love the look of the e46, I hope the same goes for the new 3! |

I was at a focus group session for the design of the F30 coupe version a couple of weeks ago. The rendering of the F32 M3 version is pretty close to the "prototype" we saw. The big differences would be the front bumper area looks more like a scowl, minus the "gills" and slots in the hood, different rims, and other typical M3 stuff. Don't want to get sued, so enough talking for now...

Dunno, that horizontal crease is the reason I didn't buy the 135...

It has buckteeth. Why does the grill seem to stick out past the bumper? I'm not digging this generation of BMW so far... I hope the 3er changes my mind when it officially debuts.

From license plate-up, the front looks like a shark, nose, eyes.... just like the front of the 6 series looks like a fat parrot fish.
Rear I feel would be much better proportioned with exhausts to match the bumper cut-outs and not the cigarettes we see... But look at the front page, with e46 though f30 side by side. What all these designs are covering up is the clear evolution of the car into a bloated safety box because of regulations. Roof gets slightly higher, as does the hood, and rear pillars are becoming more vertical. Safety is making it impossible to design a great-looking car because the designers have ridiculous proportions to work with. |

Reminds me of a pissed off gopher or the old A-10 Warthogs.

Most of these mock ups resemble the 5 series way too much... I doubt thats gonna be the case when the true pics come out. But then again the 5 and the 7 do look pretty similar. I'd say the first drawings on this thread will be pretty accurate.
