Any picture of what the manual will looks like(mainly the shift lever) Wondering if it will be long like current e90 or short like a 1 series.
Never mind, found the pic http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=598632 looks really nice

This may seem like the stupidest thing to complain about, but did everyone see the cup holders/storage area does not have a cover? I mean, what if I don't want to have the little tray and/or a bottle of water/coffee there and I just want it covered up? There is no door...
Otherwise, from the pictures I like the exterior. I am not thrilled about the amber look of the gauges, but I am hoping the "amber/white" switching will also switch the color of the gauges. My problem now is that for a loaded 335i (with all packages), it comes out to approximately $55-$56k, which is essentially the same price as a 2012 A6 Premium Plus with Side Assist and Sport. Never owned either a BMW or Audi, so it would be my first time venturing to the German side. But I would think if they are the same amount, I'd take the higher class (5 series competitor). Regardless, does anyone have any info about either the cup holders and/or switchable illumination? Does it only control the ambient lights? |

it actually does make sense. smaller diameter = firmer ride (less cushion). so luxury car drivers will want a softer ride, they get cushy tires ... thats their logic

okay, the softer ride part does make sense, but having different overall diameters doesn't. doesn't that mean different speedo/computer calibration and potentially gearing implications. just doesn't seem like they'd go through all the trouble. also, doesn't make sense to have a wheel well designed to be fit by a larger and smaller overall diameter wheel/tire combo, and then have the sporty model fill up less of that wheel well than the lux model

for a change that small no, the acceptable speedo and gearing discrepancies would be fine - when u start changing diameter by the inches, then u reach those issues. but i agree with you on the wheel well size, i just dont get it. im def waiting on an m-sport but i have the hardest time looking at that gap. its so god damn atrocious (especially on an m-sport model) and i know any attempt to lower these cars will be a bitch

I see the M-Sport info has been updated sometime since I last checked.
Good to hear that both the 18" and 19" wheels will have staggered widths. I actually like the 18" style rims so will have a bit more sidewall height and slightly greater immunity to tire / rim damage and lower tire replacement costs. I can't believe that beige leather is an option but there will be no way to get gray leather that is now much classier since most of the interior remains black. I guess beige is for those who get wood trim. No way I can do full black interior in Texas, and I am not getting wood so will have to get my wife used to the idea of the red leather. |
